Yes. If you connect and display a alternating black and white interlaced frames, you should get a mid-gray if it is combining the two. If you get pure black or pure white then it is showing one of the interlaced frames and throwing away the other one. (as the article claims they do)
Once Sirius started doing something like this with Satellite TV, the number of promos they run doubled, all directed at those who got the service for free, trying to get them to sign up. I wonder if XM can come up with a better way to advertise to them; no point annoying current subscribers like Sirius been doing. Or this is a bad sign for us subscribers?
The satellites have two independent sides. For something like IA-7 and 804 incidents to happen, something must bring down both sides (or they shorted with each other, etc). IA-7 only lost one side, but was tumbling, and that is what makes the recovery 19 hours later a miracle.
Caution - Windows Automatic Update service

If you want Automatic Update service off on XP I would be careful with ths software. I had a computer w/ SP2, ZoneAlarm, Firefox, Thunderbird, Eclipse, Galactic Civilization, and Doom 3 and that service was always off. After installing HL2 & the required Steam software it was turned on.
Could be unrelated but after installing HL2 I worry about it coming back on again...
Both them and Apple keep pointing it out. Jobs made a mistake and thought they did; so the Apple people worked hard trying to duplicate something that didn't exist.

Needs a little bit more work, the decode is way too feminine I think.
