Ya know, we were all confused about Nintendo's direction for a while, but I think it's becoming more clear that they are realizing the growing trends in gaming, and are trying their best to curb this crap, and focus on fun games again. Hopefully they will create a haven for these floundering baby game companies who have nowhere else to show off their cool new thing, and give them enough of a chance to show off what they can accomplish in a game, and hopefully get their shoe in the door for the bigger and better.
It's just going to be like the movie industry, where Nintendo will host the Sundance game festival.
No I don't have a German address. I have an APO address. Apparently this wasn't good enough for them.
Married folk who live out on the economy have actual addresses though, but then they would have to have their credit card billed to their economy address, which sucks for most other purposes.
Being stationed in Germany, without any stateside addresses to reference, I'm stuck without Live, as they don't take overseas billing addresses. Or at least didn't several months ago before I got sent to the litter box.
If they can workout online entertainment that works regardless of location, I'm all for it, pay or no. If I can sit here in my tent and hook my PS3 into the net and game back with the states, more power to them. If not, then it doesn't really make much difference to me since I won't be back in the states until Sep '07.
Actually, with the way things are looking, the PS3 won't be out till then for us anyways...
Derek Smart
The only award I could ever see Derek Smart winning is perhaps runner up for convincing people (Hey, 13 year old fanboys are people too!) into thinking his unfinished retail programs were wonderful. The only people who can do that better are perhaps Microsoft, and maybe SCO, since they seem to be able to convince the courts that they own everything Microsoft doesn't sell.
Man, and I just got finished with the damn smallpox vaccine (the scab just fell off today). They tried giving me the anthrax shot at the same time, but I declined. Currently the anthrax vaccine is on a "volunteer" (read: voluntold in some units) basis. I really don't want the Army to have even more excuses to drive needles into my arm. At least with the stuff is not overly abundant, they don't try to "encourage" you to take the vaccine.
"Hey soldier, we got an abundance of this vaccine stuff now, so get in line and sign the damn volunteer papers."
By the way, isn't this thing like STILL not FDA approved yet? Or was there some other reason it became a "volunteer only" vaccine?
You know, if you aren't against raising barns before lunch, the safest place away from "harmful" radio waves is to buy a big farm somewhere in montana and live off the land, homeschool the kids, and fight the government every couple of years until you get declared a separate country (or tax exempt. whichever comes first)
