Now there is cheap and a good deal. Know the diffrence. I bought a Shuttle motherboard cause it was cheap, well in less then 4 months it died a stupid death, same thing with a certain model ibm hard drive series, also don't skimp on the PSU I have one over heat and blow up and another just go KILLME and stop working. Cheap == CRAP
Some of the cheapest MB I have seen have had built in everything and still have 3 PCI and AGP. So what is the big freaking deal. Stop bitching and start looking for the part you need and don't come running to/. with I can't find a part I need crap. Google is your friend so is pricewatch. USe them and make the rest of us happyer in the process.:)
I believe the stated they would not play the stupid release date game, In which they try to get the review done to go with the first day announcements.
They stated that it was dumb and they where never given enough time to do what they really wanted to do.
But then again I could be wrong and it was another site.
Apple knows there users groups they fall into one of three groups: Professional , Loyalist , or Educator.
Apple simply can not compete with the Windows market for porting games. It will also not help strengthen any of the other user groups. It is not Apple's responsibility to port games it is up to the developers to do that. Microsoft doesn't port games. So the articale should have said: If developers ported their games to the mac would you buy a mac to play them?
Apple has spent the last few years buying up programs to make Apple Pro software which help to fill in holes in their software coverage. Examples would be DVD Studio Pro , Motion , Finial Cut Pro and Shake.
Would John Q public buy a mac to play the newest games. The answer would be no, because a PC that can play the same game would be cheaper. Those that say yes either have to much money or would have bought a mac anyway, the fact it would play the newest games just sweets the deal.
From what I know and I could be wrong it seem that the graphite was used to coat the inside of the core to help increase thermal resistance, but he problem was over time , due to the hydrogen used the coating would be stripped away.
So in basic speak they found a way to coat the inside of the reactor to reach a high tempature then they could before.
Again I could be wrong but that is what I thought it was meaning.
So you mean to tell me that today you couldn't build the equivalent to a C64 or Apple 2 for around 100.
Looking back at the c64 and the apple 2 I am amazed at what they did with so little. Sure it was slow but the point is you don't need Large amounts of ram or even a Harddrive to do word processing.
(Start Rant) The main problem is this We as modern computer users look at what we have now and can't seem to think of doing things another way. Look at UI design. Is there a better way? Yes , but what is it. Would it be possible to build a computer that was based around speech instead of Vision. Yes but we as modern users see no need or could figure how we would play quake on it. but a simple system like that could really be useful and work. (End Rant)
Old people like to retire where it is warm, and birds migrate to the warmer climates.
By nature we are influenced by weather when it is rainy and crappy out more often then not people are feelin extra crappy and crank. Where as if it is nice and sunny and warm then most people will much happier.
So then people that have a work enviroment that is more to there liking make them more productive.
In what capacity are you to learn Linux? What does your company do? This needs to be answered before you can get a idea of what you will need. I my self was and am a Windows Admin, I also in the last year have started to learn linux. I feel the best way to learn is to jump in and start doing. But not knowing what you plan to do makes it hard to give any advice. I come from a art back ground and have supported art students in a educational enviroment, my current job is much the same. It breaks down to supporting the users apps and helping them over come problems and limitations.
To try and go from know almost nothing about linux to where I am now It would be impossible.
I have been slow to sit down and read any book from cover to cover about Linux. I have stumbled my way through most of it and have formed or understood why things must be done a certain way. This only comes from using it not reading about it and not from using it in a controlled enviroment.
My suggestion is get you feet wet and then come back and request train in specific areas not in Linux in general.
I am not sure it there is realy apoint here but that is 2 cents is.

A new Mac store in Western Pa. It will be opening Sept 4th. I couldn't think of a better place to put a Mac store. This is realy great seeing how the nearest Mac repair place is in Cranberry.
Jeremy Irons, I am sure is kicking himself for taking this part. His cut scene was the best.We have Irons casting a spell in the tower during the dragon attack , he standing there hands raised over his head scream, and screaming, and then he dead silent and drops his hands to his side and you see it click in his head "I look like an ASSHAT", and stormed off the set.
Marlon Wayans is in it. You know him form all those great films: I'm Gonna Git You Sucka (1988) Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood (1996) Scary Movie (2000) White Chicks (2004)
Justin Whalin the lead in DnD is none other then Jimmy Olsen from Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. Not a bad actor just not a leading man. I mean you have Jermey freaking Irons as the antagonist you need a eqaully stong protagonist.
Bruce Payne as Iron's evil sidekick that wears silver lipstick yes folks the man that is to be the basest of the bad is wearing lipstick. Now if the part would have been for a female I wouldn't have given it another thought. I am sorry but it made him look like a chrome sucking pansy then a badass thug.
The Good NEWS: It is the best drinking game. Just switch the DVD to Commentary track and anytime you hear the words "Crane" or "Dougie" just drink. I swear to god in the first 20 minutes you will be so drunk you start to like the film or you will be rushed to the ER.
The Bad NEWS: There is a sequeal. http://imdb.com/title/tt0406728/
Courtney Solomon, The man that directed this piece of trash and what else has he done? http://imdb.com/name/nm0813309/
JetStor SATA Model 416S: http://www.acnc.com/02_01_jetstor_sata_416s.html 16 Sata Drives Pumped into a Onboard convertor that turns the SATA Raid into a scsi drive so any system with scsi can access it.
Coolermaster Stacker + 3 Sata in 5.25 bay: http://www.atruereview.com/cm_stacker/index.php For the DYIers Just get a CMstacker from coolermaster and add in 5 X (Three Sata drive bay per two 5.25) with 11 5.25 bays you could have 15 Sata drives and the server in the same tower Plus a cdrom drive. Somewhere around 2,200 for Case and SATA bays.
Chenbro 24 SATA 5U rackmount: http://www.chenbro.com.tw/product/product.jsp?p= 3& s=304&pid=62 This is a good step up for people looking to build there own RAID. Many online shops sell this and add in the MB and SATA controllers and sell it as ther RAID Servers.
Each of these are not realy cheap answers but still way cheaper then Apples Xraids. But if you are talking Terabytes then nothing is realy cheap. Keep in mind you that the Apple Xraids have very good support and maintance for it's price. Below is just storage not full systems.
Xserve Raid Host Interface Fiber Disk Interface PATA Drive Bays 14 Drive Cap. 250GB MAX Cap. 3.42TB Base Cost $8,799.00 Cost per Tera $2,574.34 Cost per drive $628.50

I find that most form os stress come from being a control freak on everything. There are times when stress is the result of outside forces as in request for work that can not be met.
In the end you can't control everything so why try to? It is better to pick the spots that matter and focus on those. You can't win every fight , just fight the wons you know you can win.
I have seen time that I could have done something, and avoided some problems, but not doing it ended up being better as others notice when things went wrong they had only themselves to blame.
First:
Do a google search for Phantom console. You will find that [H]ard|OCP
isn't the only web site that has similar view on the subject.
Second:
'You breached the journalistic code of ethics or conduct by setting out to create a biased article and by falling to conduct the proper due dilligence which would have brought the inaccuracies to light.'
Ummmm the only thing that came to my mind was FOX NEWS. Accuracy in reporting stuff? Bias news article? I thought all news was bias by default as it was a human that put a story in it. Man even major news paper have proplems keeping accurate articles. Case in point Jayson Blair, nuff said.
Last but not least:

Flash needed for the dialup version of the web site are they brain dead or just stupid?
I have seen this demoed at CMU it was cool but for the most part it was useless, just a toy. I do have a back ground in 3D so I know something of the subject. Any one looking into 3D animation or modeling for a hobby would be bored with this in 10 minutes. You have no control over fine details, it is worse then trying to sculpting clay with boxing gloves on. If there is a program out there that looks like it can make it so easy to make a 3d model then it falls into one of two groups niche or toy.
Niche; being that it works great on one thing, programs that can take a set of photo pictures into a 3D model.
Toy; like smooth teddy. Microsoft had a 3D program back in the day it was so basic it was more a tool / demo of what Windows 3.1/95 could do , this was before they owned Softimage.
You are correct linux does have support to READ a NTFS volume but that is where it ends. Write support has been listed as experimental. Also there is more to NTFS then just reading a file or writting it. There is the ACL, if the native linux drivert doesn't support changes to this then the driver would very much be needed in recovery from a messed up ACL. But you could do that from another NT machine. From my experience it is best to only access the drive from the OS it was meant to be access from.
The driver in this caase is needed to write to the drive in a safe manner. I have read many of the comments of the people that have used it and I ask my self why do they need to use it? Many others have stated it on here , that it is just easier to share out the drive and get to it from samba.
Now there is cheap and a good deal. Know the diffrence.
