While this is all pretty much accurate, you are forgetting one thing. Distribution. If the distribution channels suck, which they do on a global scale, it doesn't matter how much food you produce when all it does is sit in a warehouse rotting. At this point in time the US produces enough wheat for more than the population of the world, we just can't get it to the places that need it, if they want it.
I agree that the text in a lot of those fine print parts are pretty much illegible, but like i said as far as the law is concerned its there so the consumer should be aware.
You could read the fine print. Usually when they say unlimited, in print ad's, there is a little * next to unlimited. Is it misleading, as far as the law is concerned? No. For the average consumer who doesn't read the fine print? Yes. So who is at fault? In my opinion, the consumer for not being fully aware of the contract they are signing. Yes it would be nice to not have to do such things, *sarcasim*but hey as American's its our God given right to take advantage of anyone we see fit, if they are dumb enough to let themselves be taken advantage of.*/sarcasim* So if you don't like their service for this particular reason, don't use it, simple enough but I think people tend to miss that point.
Ontrack has been doing this type of recovery for years. A couple of times I have asked for quotes, just to even look at the drive was like $1,000US. Can't remember how much it was per MB to retrieve the data. I know they have recovered data for machines lost in hurricane andrew, servers sitting in water for months. They were in Kuwait after the 91 gulf war recovering systems there. I think the only way to not have Ontrack recover a drive is to literally melt the platters.
So if you are a success you aren't allowed to cheat. I like that, but if you aren't a huge success cheat, all you want? I think someone else needs to develop some higher brain functions.....
Oh and by the way, I bet the MS bashers out populate the Apple bashers here on lovely/.
1. How does agreeing with me prove your point? 2. maybe he has a large family and he had to purchase the family truckster to fit everyone in. It doesn't matter why he drives a large vehicle, if its easier to back up than turn around why is that such a problem?
Well being this bit is about a couple in the US, and I am obviously not very privy to their specific laws regarding driving in reverse, I am pretty sure no cop would ever give a person a ticket for driving in reverse for more than 15 meters.
Its doesn't matter what type of material is used to make a road. What matters is the differing transitions, ala going from asphalt to gravel to concrete. Take a peek at those pictures, how many roads do you see with a mailbox at the end? How many roads are there were the trees are that close? in other parts of the neighborhood the trees aren't that close. How many roads, that are gravel are one way? The drivers of the van should have used that big lump on top of their necks and thought....hmmm this may be a private road and we shouldn't go down it.
No registry change is needed. Just start up WU and tell it to check for new updates. Its an optional update at the moment, but in a month it will be mandatory, probably gives MS some time to tweak as reports of certain incompatiabilities are reported to them.
wow, I think someone needs a big nap.

Thank you for your support!
So you are willing to go to jail for a $50 game? In my opinion I think not purchasing the game in the first place is a better means of protest.
freecell or solitare.
You know you can change AU to ask you before it installs anything.
In Apple's eyes, cracking open the thing just because you have the "chops" till doesn't make it ok. What if he has to have the MB replaced?
You make a tool/language/framework for developers, you better make it idiot proof.
What's the saying, making something idiot proof and a better idiot comes along?
Well you can't let him in if Stephen Baldwin is in already. And vice-versa.

Very good point, so MS "forces" IE/MediaPlayer/Whathaveyou on you, Apple "forces" you to their hardware. Which is worse?
The almighty Jobs said it should be so, so it shall.

Have people lost the ability to drive in reverse? He didn't have to turn around, backing up is an option.

errrr Just because they haven't been convicted doesn't make it any less wrong. guess i should have hit preview first.

Not everyone has the nerve to drive 100mph, let alone 70mph.
AHAHAHA.....If I only had mod points....
I am thinking LEGO may have a potential lawsuit here.....
