Since these statistical studies are only good at showing trends and not absolute numbers, it may be further out than that. I would note that MSIE is just under 90% and the other set of numbers show that windows usage is almost the same figure. This would seem to indicate that Windows people are still all using IE with very few exceptions (I know and those few are all on/.). That the growth in the alternate browsers is just due to the growth in Linux and MacOS.
I think one of the main reasons we have these sorts of decisions is the fact that the average judge is so old he has no idea what a computer is or what it is being used for. To say that typing on a keyboard would not possibly be an interstate communication shows a lack of knowledge of what email is, what irc is, what instant messaging is......
Yeah, I can remember anxiously opening up a card from a relative when I was younger. This Aunt was always good for a check for $20. What do I find but a card that says she donated to some charity in my name. Not sure if meaningful was the word that sprung to mind.
I agree with you. This is a project for the geeky thrill of doing it. The only kid that will like it would be older kids that are showing their future geekiness.
Actually they have a complicated set of rules that varies from area to area. Some areas they are allowed to have rubber tires, some areas not. In our area they have lots of wood shops that used gas powered air compressors. Then they use air tools for their work. One of the most interesting things I saw when I first moved to the area was an Amishman backing his horse and buggy up to a public boat ramp on a lake. He had a trailer with a boat and a Honda motor on it. Alot of them have phones outside in what appears to be an outhouse. Several households will share the one phone. But they can not be in their homes. The list goes on.
I live in the middle of an Amish community. I know that LED has been growing amongst them as a lighting source. An LED table lamp powered by batteries is becoming quite common replacing the hot, noisy and potentially dangerous gas lights that have been used in the past.
But as we saw with the FCC decision to take on extra duties recently, it is probably wise to tell the FAA to keep their hands off most of the program. I would have also liked to see them ban any lawsuits arising out of injuries or deaths of people involved. This is a risky experimental program. Anyone signing up for it, knows that.
Back when I got one of the first Imacs, it took awhile to get used to no fans and no noise. When I got this PC after having the other, I constantly thought something was wrong with it, hearing that fan.
Besides didn't/. just announce a few weeks ago that Star Trek transporters are just around the corner. Why bother with old technology like elevators. And we wonder why the general public doesn't support increased funding of science. They read a headline like this or the shotgun wielding robots and think "those people want to spend my money to study that"
Man do I feel stupid... when I was in college, I just sat around trying to figure out where to get beer and/or get laid. Of course most times I would have had as much success in building the cyclotron.
Actually I was only talking about shaving her head and the fact that that was not typically seen back then. But hey, if you find those other things erotic.... well good luck out there;-)
That damn Bush and his Republican Congress. Waiting until after the election to try to pass this through... what, oh wait, we like this..... oh never mind:)
I really sorry for kids that have had to grow up not knowing the excitement of those days of the Apollo moon missions. I can remember in school, all the students gathering in the gym to watch the TVs. That's why for the survival of NASA, I wish they would set a new goal like a manned mission to Mars.
The place was set for a decision like this when they made it illegal to link to DeCSS.

I am not Amish, I have neighbors who are Amish.

Hmmm, it says it is slower and has less space, what's not to love.
But.... does it come with a robot.
Since the taggers will love this stuff, better get it now before a permit is needed to buy it.

If those old atomic clocks were losing a second every few million years, I think we deserve refund.
They will also make DVD players where you can not skip around. Sit and watch from beginning to end.

So watching porn on your TV would be twice as addictive. Man glad I kept it on my computer.

Wasn't it in Aliens where Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) shaved her head.... that was unusual back then, making her extremely hot looking.

Well now I know why those Nigerians never send me the money they email me about, Gates is ending up with all of it.
