Do you use games for windows live because I don't think you do. ms took down the gfwl authentication servers a while ago. You can still download your games but the online part is broken unless you patch it to run another distribution service like steam where the developers have made such a patch. Even then, it's a hit and miss what still works. For example when you bring resident evil 5 over to steam you still lose online co-op. ms really dropped the ball on consumers and developers/publishers alike when they abandoned gfwl.
5 - Phishers on forums/messageboards pretending to be looking for help by posting up bogus QR codes.
6 - You are the IT expert at a company and you receive the QR code from a colleague while you're out shopping. The only way to read the QR code photo is with another phone.
7 - How about ms works on putting more description into what a particular window update does first instead of just calling them security updates when they're really some crappy useless thing like telemetry services.
I like steam but this is good that the ACCC took them to court and won. Their refund policy is BS. I bought payday 2 ( http://store.steampowered.com/... ) when it had just came out for something like US$25 full price. I trusted the word of the developer who said it would NEVER have microtransactions ( http://steamcommunity.com/app/... ) in the game. Those scumbag developers then added in microtransactions anyway turning it on a P2W game. I tried multiple times through steam to get it refunded and each time I got a template response from steam denying the refund. If this was sold in the shops in Australia it would be ILLEGAL because it was not what I bought nor was it advertised as such to have microtransactions.
I agree. I think they could do far more better by using a better DAC in their phones like a Wolfson. I'd buy their cheap phones just as music player if they did that. Samsung's GS2 had radio built into it and used the earphone cable as an antenna, then they took the radio out in the GS3 onwards. In fact a lot of new phones including the iphone have FM capability (Murata 339S0228 chip) but it is turned off in the firmware or not electrically connected to a antenna source. Seems a bit odd to be going for DAB in a phone when they can have FM now but its disabled.
Cross platform could also be between PC operating systems. Like for example on Steam doesn't care if you run Mac, Linux or Windows. If a game on steam is available on two or all of those platforms you still only have to pay for it once. And a person playing a Steam game on Mac, Linux or Windows can play with any other Steam player playing the same game in a different OS.
But yea, playing a cross platform FPS game between PC and console players is gonna suck for the console player.
Don't use the TV as the brains to watch netflix, get a separate tv box which doesn;t take voice commands. Using the tv for netflix sucks anyway because as soon as netflix changes their api like youtubre has many times the tv apps become dead.
Another thing you could do is disconnect the microphone from the tv (why does it need a microphone anyway?) or cover the microphone hole with sound dampening material.
Heya, you posted AC but I hope you can still read this. Thanks for acknowledging my existence on here. That's the first time anyone has in all the time I've been here. Not that anyone needs to do that but that was nice.:) haha
If youre just talking about the link to our journals on the posts we make, that is true we can get to our journal that way but that still shows that it is broken imo because its found in such a convulted way. Slashdot can't expect us to make a post or find one of our old ones just to get a link up to our journals or have us remember the direct link to type into the browser. On other sites theres usually links either in our account page or some other prominent location to navigate our own stuff and around the site. I don't know why our journals are hidden like this (or missed when they revamped the site) especially when slashdot started out as a journal.
I thought maybe it was my browser but on a clean install of chrome without any addons, it is still the same. On the mobile phone it is even worse, even posts do not have the journal links.
Could you please raise the issue that journals are broken on here. For one, theres no way to get to a persons journal by clicking links. we have to resort to typing in our journal address in the browser url bar. Secondly, journals entries get archived within a short amount of them and then nobody can comment on them. Shouldnt the journal owner have a say in how long they want to accept comments for?
They actually do do this with Hollywood movies too. They put dots in the prescreenings that they give to reviewers so if someone records it with a camera etc, the MPAA or whoever can id the source of the leak.
That is one of the supposeded 'cons' of having a cesarean. The baby probably still picks up bacteria when it is given to the mother to be fed and doesn't need much of it till its old enough to consume solids.
When we are born we are so clean that even our stomachs do not have bacteria. It is hypothesized that our first dose of this bacteria comes from normal child birth and then we are put in our mothers arms so kissing and cuddling further transfers the bacteria. Is this cuddling and kissing where we get the first face mites too or are we born with them?
When something is no longer rare but the price is still kept high. We can make cultured pearls but you don't see cheap pearls all around the place. We can easily make diamonds too with a lot of pressure. Ever year tonnes of diamonds are ground to dust to use as a coating on industrial tools just so the price of large diamonds can be kept high.
"Helium is needed for scientific research and medical diagnostic equipment."
Whoever pays the most will always be able to get what they want. Getting helium for scientific and medical purposes more than likely gets priority too. I wouldn't be worried about hard drives 'wasting' helium. Mechanical hard drives are on their way out anyway. The only thing going for them is their massive amount of storage space and the only reason SSDs haven't caught up is because the SSD manufacturers would rather milk the market (who wouldn't?)
The article is silly. Who would buy a i7-6700K purely for the GPU. If you want that kinda gpu power you can get a dedicated graphics card for much less.
If you're the content owner you shouldn't have some asshole claiming that it is theirs especially after you have allowed them to use it for free. Even the general public who copyright infringe on music/movies/games etc don't claim that they made that thing, they do it to watch/enjoy it. The copyright infringement that sony was doing is the WORST kind of infringement by claiming ownership over something which wasn't theirs. And its really unfair that that guy had to waste his time fighting it because even sony wouldnt get that from the general public.

Just look at what this same company did when they abandoned games for windows live and you have your answer there.

I will never buy a overkill game again.

Thats interesting. I notice it is from a few years back. I take it the developers of telegram ignored them about it?
Yea, sorry it's a 6. typo :)
I like telegram ( https://telegram.org/ ) . It gets a 7 on EFF ( https://www.eff.org/node/83766 ) and has clients on android/ios/windows/mac/linux and even on winblows phone that nobody uses

ah, oops. When I typed R9 380 above there I was thinking of the R9 390 which is the R9 290 rebranded.
Like the AC this news makes me sad because the R9 380 isn't in the list so we have to hope the community will help give it support.
You have to find a color blind person to take your cash.
Since the R9 380 is essentially the R9 290 rebranded I guess it works with that gpu too?
It's easy to forget this which happened 1 year after the 2007 test.

You got this right though, "Nothing peaceful about blowing up satellites."
Cue joke about your car stopping in the middle of the highway and needing to open and close your windows to get your car going again. haha
Agreed, "Out of control drone narrowly misses chamion skier" would have been a much better title.
And the "inches" is just sensationalism. In the video you can see the drone missed him by at least a few feet.

No, it is not fair. What proof did sony provide that it was theirs?
This is the guys video that sony made claim on:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?...
This is the video that sony said it was stolen from:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?...
They aren't even the same video!
