    I have never liked the Catholic church. Still don't. That said, Pope Francis is a completely awesome guy.

    You don't have to like an institution to like specific people within that institution. That's something fundies don't understand (though they are obviously not the only ones unable to understand that very important distinction).

    "Article IV, Section 1:
    Full faith and credit shall be given in each state to the public acts, records, and judicial proceedings of every other state. And the Congress may by general laws prescribe the manner in which such acts, records, and proceedings shall be proved, and the effect thereof."

    Because it brings up the same counter-forces to an issue of rights. Fundamentalists are opposed to anything that is not fundamentalist, and they deserve to be legally bludgeoned with their own shoe.

    Fundamentalists are diametrically opposed to equality. The law is supposed to work for them, and nobody with whom they disagree (being almost everyone but another like-minded fundamentalist). They deserve to be bludgeoned with the same club they use on others.

    Numerous companies have claimed it's their work, and have claimed that it's ended up in the hands of other companies who are now claiming it's their work.

    If true, that's textbook plagiarism, just at a corporate level. It's also fraud, but plagiarism has always been a form of fraud.

    So did you stop believing in Intel after their bugged Pentiums rolled off the line? ARM only from now on, until they screw something up?

    Just because a company has a product that flopped doesn't mean they won't ever produce anything good again. While it's fine to not be excited until it's actually hit shelves, writing them off for the end of time seems a bit premature.

    The second part seems to be what is happening (and it incorporates the entire first paragraph, plus the missing bits to qualify as plagiarism). They're taking IP wholesale, delivering it to another company, and that company claims it's their own work.

    This is becoming less true. The US has a history (increasing in usage) of threatening the press with jail time if they publish anything truly damaging to the government.

    I've always owned dogs, and if you don't have enough time to be responsible for your dog, you shouldn't own one.

    The response does not in any way point to psychopathy. Abdication of responsibility is another matter, however.

    A restaurant is not a public place. They can ask anyone to leave for any reason they so choose. Wearing Google Glass inside is no more a right than bringing in food from outside is a right.

    This asshole would not have been embarrassed if he didn't act like an asshole. He was quietly and politely asked to take it off, at which point he threw a tantrum. This is not socially acceptable behavior, and he deserves every ounce of humiliation he's now getting. Maybe he won't act like a complete asshole next time, and will instead either take it off or quietly leave and never frequent the establishment again. His rights were not violated. Only a complete moron thinks that they have the right to bring anything they desire into a private establishment. Fucking entitled little bastard.
