    systemd is from Red Hat. It was adopted by other distros because they believed it solved a problem, not because Red Hat tried to tell others that they must use it.

    Replacing systemd with smf and btrfs with zfs would be fantastic. Solaris 10 and OpenSolaris did so many things just right and Linux so wrong.

    Then you both have crappy Internet connections. It is easy to say, "what are you complaining about, it's fine" when you've never had a good connection.

    I said whining and I did it in an extremely condescending way, because the whole premise of the article is 'how will I ever survive on 1.5mbps.' It wasn't, 'this kind of sucks but oh well.' The article is whining like a little bitch for having speeds comparable to most of the rest of the US.

    5 years ago where I live finally got DSL at 768bps. 2 years ago it actually got bumped to a maximum of 3mbps. WTF are you whining about?

    You wouldn't think about going to a psychiatrist to get a flu shot or cholesterol medication yet we are perfectly happy to go to any other doctor for psychiatric medication.

    They're not qualified but they won't stop given their own egos and people won't see a psychiatrist when they should between the stigma associated with it and issues with insurance.

    This isn't a character attack, what he did was illegal. They don't need to stretch the truth here. They'll keep saying it because it is going to be on those grounds that he is dealt with and that detail is the only one many people think about.

    That his actions were justifiable or moral or whatever you think of him doesn't change the fact that was he did was illegal, and that's the only true fact they have to work with.

    It wasn't better marketed, it was created and made available by Diffie. That 'and' is important here. The British kept it secret that they even done it until '97. This is an example of parallel invention, only in this case one side made it known he had created it and the other didn't. For creating and publicizing Diffie is correctly attributed as the co-creator of Public Key Cryptography.

    I have no idea of the value of the content of the film in question, but if the residents of NC don't want to have the rest of the world point and laugh at them, perhaps they should stop doing things and stop electing people that cause the world to point and laugh at them.

    Windows 8 belongs on a tablet, it's quite easy to see how it would work well on one. On the desktop however, that is were it starts falling flat. Technically, Windows 8 under the user experience is an improvement, the tablet interface on a keyboard/mouse desktop on the other hand is not.

    every descendent of Unix - has a single root account

    Root is disabled in OS X by default, you have to use sudo to enable it. SELinux can remove the godly nature of root and Trusted Solaris does something similar. With Windows, you simply create users as members of the correct administrative groups.
