    Most likely for the reason that was presented at the end of the article, it was for a bit of fun. It was meant to be an exercise in cryptography, by enciphering something Jefferson knew, he would know when (if) he deciphered it correctly.

    And Apple supports a different one in Safari 4. IE supports neither so the W3C might as well dictate unicorn farts since HTML5 won't be supported on most of the desktops in the world.

    I thought this was how Xenosaga should have worked. Episode 2 starts the second where Ep 1 ends, but suddenly you're all the way back to being completely weak and KOS-MOS can not learn the abilities she had in the first one.

    You stopped using a DB system because a app related to but not developed by PostgreSQL didn't do something you wanted it to? I stopped using Oracle because I didn't like the colour scheme in Toads tools. No seriously, I say that with no hint of sarcasm.

    For a serious project, I would expect someone to use scripts anyway.

    They teach you how to count in kindergarten, they even show you with blocks what 1 means, what 2 is and what not.

    What your holding as a genius way to do things is no different then Roman numerals. It gets extremely unwieldily for anything other then simple addition and subtraction or basic counting, and they aren't any less arbitrary in their symbolism then Arabic numerals are.

    You don't need rolling blackouts to a utility to act like a dick. Just ask my power company who keeps increasing my rate aver few months without adding any service. Now your ISP can do the same thing, what are you going to do? Go somewhere else?

    My own experience as a former cold-sufferer is consistent with their claims

    Zicam would have the same effect as any saline based gel delivered in the same manner would. All it did was make it easier to empty your sinuses of mucus. That relief (yay I can breath) is what is being sold, not any actual cold remedy.

    Now isn't ESPN360 the actual channel that just happens to also have a website? espn.com is not being blocked, content that hasn't been paid for is, as well as they can do without plugging into ISP's databases and figuring out if you've paid to watch the ESPN360 channel.

    I subscribe to a magazine that keeps it's archives online but available only to subscribers. I don't see how this is any different.

    You're not supposed to use company equipment (yes this includes the phone) for personal use. Don't treat things that aren't yours as if they were. You do give up any privacy when you do, your web usage is probably recorded, your phone calls can be logged and yes, they would have the right to record every conversation.
