EQ and the rest are piece of shit games for twats with no lives, I think they mean the future is gaming is Multiplayer games like Quake/DoomIII where you log into the server kill a bunch of people, follow some objectives and get back to your real life.
If they made a Multiplayer GTA style game that would just destoy the paradigm of current online games. A world where you can chose to do police missions against other people who are playing or to try and rob the bank in a virtual gang! Fuck this AO/DAOC/EQ crap you losers.
I hope this puts an end to the urban myth that ATI drivers suck! I'm finding that the 4x.xx drivers don't work that well with my GForce 440MX the TV-Out is screwy, the best drives for me are 30.82 I wish they would fix that instead of optimizing for pointless benchmarks! I'd rather have a driver that works than one that gives me a bigger 3dMark score!
Why dont you then, I can't because the nearest place to me that sells it is about 50 miles away.
They have got some brilliant articles in the magazine just look at their recent coverage of the Iraqi war and the tech used by Allied soldiers. Well I could always subscribe but I don't really want to spend $70.
After hearing this news many people are going to be discouraged by filesharing. This could be the end of people thinking they can get away with it.
So the implications will be:
1) People will stop sharing their files and leech
2) People will stop sharing and move over to services like eMusic/Apple.
3) Everyone starts using freenet!
The last option sounds the best, its the evolution of Filesharing like Kazaa was after Napster. The more they attack pirates the further underground they push them.
The reason why the trust me is maybe they like the human interaction with someone of similar intelligence, they are totally geeky while I am a geek too I know non-geeks... What normal people talk about on Monday mornings is how drunk they got on Saturday night and how many girls told them to piss off.
The lab helpdesk guys talk about LAN parties they went to or the new Doom III alpha demo they downloaded (sad really).
Also I occasionally help them fix problems with computers so they have good reason to trust that I wont fuck anything up for them.
For all you know I could be giving them porn from my own dormcam! (haha I wish)
Seriously P2P users/pirates are not bad people! We wont kill your babies or r00t your servers.
There is a clause about tampering with software but as soon as I take the CD out everything should be as it should be! Those pasty students who work on the helpdesk don't say anything to me because I give them porn DIVX's.
This is great! When the Lab runs out of normal PC's theres always a few Macs left and now with my shiny Linux PPC cd I can use these heaten machines without cringing at MacOS 9 and actually have some decent apps.
Yeah London has got way to many speed cameras! Driving through there is hell...
I live in a city about a tenth of the size of London and its relativly easy to remember where the fixed speed cameras are and just slow down for them.
Slighly more annoying are the mobile speed camera vans which visit about 10 locations a day, you have to check their website every morning to see where they are going to be and either avoid those roads or slow down in those areas but I doubt keeping track of locations in a city the size of London would be easy. It would be interesting to hear how other people deal with cameras both mobile and fixed, post your ordeals!
It happens to me often when I change from say a VB project to a C# project, not every time but about 1 in 10. Also It happened when I upgraged to.NET 1.1 (but thats acceptable).
Very strange
The VS.NET IDE is notoriously crappy, sometimes for no apparent reason it says that it needs to update the HELP because of recent changes... then it spends 5-10 minutes rebuilding the help database. It leaves me throughly frustrated when all I want to do is change one little thing.
Try ecliplse and develop java instead, thats what I've decided to do!
They aint the only two you know:P
Over here in the UK Sky makes a PVR called sky+ I'd hazard a guess that its probably better than TIVO and ReplayTV, but the PSX takes the crown with its DVD-+R

You can connect it to your TV, and watch it on your 38" plasma screen!
Put some divx's on there and take it to a sleep over and you can watch movies all night!
Try Outlook as a IMAP/SSL client! Give it a try!

But as with most literature, you can't take everything 100% literally.
How true, especially of slashdot
So why one in ten times? Is this supposed to take 5-10 minutes?
