I took a cursory look at his site, and the district didn't jump out at me (that's one thing that I've noticed on a lot of political sites - they say "I'm running", but not what for!).
Playing that kind of game with him wouldn't nearly be as funny as it would for the poor guy in Alaska:)
I have a daughter that was born two months premature. She's now a healthy 11 year old. She did require help when born (if you've ever seen your kid hooked to a respirator, you'd know how rough it is), but if you saw her now you'd never know how rough she had it when she was born.
Not sure how much land area his district covers, but I could see it resulting in being sceduled at the four corners of the district in the same day. In a populous state like Ohio, that's probably not a big deal - think of how funny it would be in Alaska (where the entire state is a single district).
"Representive - I've got you scheduled for Juenau at 8am and Point Barrow at noon followed by one of the Kodiak islands at 3pm"
I remember hearing that at least some of them were using fake ID's. I may well be wrong about that though.
If they were using legitimately issued drivers licenses, then the states need to step up their checks in issuing them. I'm not sure how it is in other states, but I know someone who lost their Iowa drivers license. In order to replace it they needed their birth certificate, marriage license, a blood sample, and had to sign over their soul (well, that might be a slight exagerration).
Yes. Just don't write it to the "IRS". I think that "United States Treasury" is preferred and that is what the instructions for the tax forms call for.
by being set on top of a subwoofer or by an MRI scan
That's just a small difference in the magnetic field there. I used to work at a hospital and was told that when they were installing an MRI machine, one of the network guys helped move something into place. Just doing that was enough to wipe the magnetic strips on all of his cards in his wallet.
It would have made it more difficult and expensive to make the fake ID's. Without a valid ID, the hijackers wouldn't be able to (at least now) get on the plane in the first place.
If you're married and both you and your spouse work at a decent job (doesn't have to even be that good paying of a job!) and earn around $35K/year - congratulations you're rich!
The most controversial social commentary they make is to point out that Islamic/Arab culture seriously needs reform. But you can't object to that unless you also think the Catholic Reformation and Women's Rights were bad ideas.
They're calling for a Muhammad Luther to nail some objections to the door of the mosque then?
That's because it was for a non-profit. Open a sole proprietorship for yourself, and open an account as John Doe, dba IsoRectal Spectroscopy. If you can get your hands on some checks meant for taxes, but written to "IRS" - you can deposit them (IRS would make sense as a abbreviated name for your dba). Once caught, you'd probably be in trouble, but it can be done.
Note to our "friendly government lurkers" - I do not advocate, recommend, or in any other way think that this is a good idea. I prepare taxes during the spring and always recommend that any checks are made out to the United States Treasury. I heard about this kind of a scam when learning about tax preparation.
The Dot-Com stuff hurt the stock market, but I think that the Y2K IT spending spree where most companies upgraded equipment a bit out of cycle and the subsequent drop in demand after January 1 started the recession. The attacks of 9/11 hurt the economy even more. It's amazing that those two events didn't spiral into a worldwide depression like what happened in the 1930's.
It should be settled one way or another by the first week of January of 2005. If the electoral college can't call the election by then, I would think that it goes to the House. Somebody will be seated as the President in January.

Then you'd have an unscientific sample of people who may or may not be voters in your district.

Absolutely. This will probably put more of a hurt on youngsters seeking beer than an organized terrorist network, though.
It is - that's where the "cryo" comes from...
See - you still didn't shoot down one fact in that movie!
Good point. I just remember that the affected person hadn't been born in a hospital, and the birth certificate was problematic.

To be honest, I don't even notice the ads anymore. I guess that I've trained my eyes to just skip over it.

As long as the ads are out of the way and not popups, I don't have a problem.
Of course, I'm running firefox and don't have the flash and shockwave plugins loaded - that gets rid of a lot of the worst ads.
I do consider that trouble - see my disclaimer :)
Unless that President is John Kerry - they've got enough personal wealth to hire enough people to affect the unemployment rate :)

3 is ok, as long as we don't legalize nasty stuff like meth
4 - show me a mainstream candidate that is L33T enough to manage his own PC, let alone know the ins and outs of Microsoft.

This has actually been done before, and anyone can open an account for, as an example, "IsoRectal Spectroscopy" dba "IRS" and cash stolen tax checks.
And now we know why a trial lawyer was picked for Kerry's vice presidential candidate - they needed a field general for all of those other lawyers.
