If only they did that. Think of it: A world without Microsoft. No more hideously overpriced "upgrades" that are really just bugfixes that cause more bugs. No more DRM. I've got to go back in time and cause them to bet the company on Microsoft Bob!!
Plus, I bet that's only the fatal system errors and such. All of the Windows boxes I have used generally have 2 or more non fatal error messages a day. And probably half of those crashes are unreported, so the total complete system crashes that occur every day is more like 10%.
Yeah, but those 50% would mostly be unskilled laborers and cashiers, not the kind of people who would be hired to design robots. However, if people weren't so damned greedy we could all be sitting on our asses playing video games while robots did all the work. However, until the necessary institutions are created there will be massive poverty. Essentially the only way that this robot idea would work would be some kind of enlightened socialist government being instituted.
Actually during Jeb Bush's election they were tested. Though they might have been another just as insecure brand. I think the Democrats tried to sue over that. The Republicans gave most of the contracts to Diebold which may have influenced the existence of those bugs.
The guy wasn't harassing them. All he did was create a website questioning their credibility and listing various claims against them. One has the right to criticize others, especially those who may well be breaking the law. criticism is not harrasment!
rant
I'm guessing that you're one of them due to your flagrant mispelling of lose and proving. If you're going to insult people at least spell right. Also, "I" should be capitalized. /rant
Seriously, not everyone is as knowledgable about the internet as people who post on/.
is fraudulent is the broadcasting an internet IP address one. That one is obviously designed to frighten people who are not very knowledgable about the internet. The others don't have that scare factor. Plus most people except people very new to computers would recognize them as false.
Basically all of them don't now. Both HP-Compaq and Dell don't provide a backup(not sure about IBM). It probably has to do with one of M$'s evil licenses.
That's my feeling too, until the standards war settles down, I'm not going to buy a DVD burner. The first adopters are going to be screwed either way now that they've plunked down a couple hundred on a device that can only read and/or write one format while those who waited are going to be able to use both formats on their DVD+/-R drives.
Very true, maybe Richard Stallman would be a better judge of this than Linus. After all, Linus is a hacker(in the good sense) through and through and they tend not to hold professions in which suits thrive in high esteem. Richard Stallman on the other hand, obviously would have a better grasp of licensing and IP since he did write the GPL and all.
It does build on any Unix box. It runs on Mac OS X, bsd, solaris...etc. I think they just mean for a Unix variation, Linux just happening to be the most popular.
Nope, technically you're downloading a different thing. You could convert from analog to digital though. However, that would probably cost quite a bit in acquiring the hardware.
I can see the headlines now: Number of Organ donors and monty python quotings increases 50%
I pirated their music and I still feel ripped off. (in reference to the price fixing settlement.)
The great thing is, not only would many more people be rich, M$ would be bankrupt. No more Windows!

says the person who spelled possess wrong
Umm...yes they are. MPAA lawsuit, remember? As to your assertion that no one hates Disney. Well, I'll laugh at your naivete: Hah-ha

Damn, that's going right after Microsoft works in my list of oxymorons

I think they mean that you'll still be able to order the software, you just won't see it on a store shelf.
When I saw Microsoft's top concern I immediately thought they meant this:
current economic environment=>MS not owning enough of said environment
Magnetism, the electromagnet causes it to spin while also propelling the bullet forward. At least that's what I think it is.
Gauss guns make you.

Teens go on Sim City inspired city building spree. Video games blamed
The articles said it was a web based game, therefore no immediate clues whether it's been played.
