    Actually it I am hacking away at getting my SonicPort(opcode) to work under Mac and Linux.
    Any one else looking at this route I would sure like some help or hints. Has *any one* got some USB Audio code to raid from?

    Yeah, but they (origins) expect them(my wayward moon) to be by in a system.

    ...small object like the Moon has too little gravity to hold an atmosphere. However, an object this small could be detected in a nearby system because it would be only 12 times fainter than Earth. It could be recognized because it would show no atmospheric absorption features in its spectrum.

    The hidden pratfall is that you need a SUN some where near by, I was thinking free floaters ...

    An interesting feature of this study is that no planets have been found under 8 Jupiter masses. It may indicate that there is a limit to how small these free-floating planets can be but even more sensitive surveys will be needed to confirm this.

    What would it take to detect a moon(earths) size mass that far out? Thats a very small target, even 8 Jup's is a pin prick.

    PS: Traveler was used(cribbed) into a number of BBS Doors apps in the late 70's and early 80's and made for some good fun at 300Baud.

    Ok, two ideas on some things that could be done...

    1. Stop supporting and selling computer products to them. (RIAA, MPAA etc or even secondary firms)

    2. Take your Server for a 12.5 mile 365 day/year sailing trip.(Where is my account from again?)

    I say cut em' off, they dont need computers or programmers they have Lawyers. Mind you I do want to watch them issue a restraing order to their CPU for BSOD'ing on or about march 3rd.

    Well to see any of the Big name apps ported.

    Think about it 90% of the Mainstream Audio Apps have:
    * Dongles ("Can I see the GPL source for that?")
    * Special Floppy Installs ("That too")
    * Hidden System Software ("try that in on my Server will you")
    * Closed Source Models (Aspestosia Rex)

    And the real Fear of (Yam's, Alesis and Roland) is in 90 to 120 days.....
    6 Stereo Out 128MB Samplers for $899 Open Source and MPI-ied!
    Dont think we will see Re-Birth Re-alsoon.

    I can tell you why, I used to work in Op's at a large data clearing center back then. If you wanted to copy a Tape or recreate it from old/offline storage you needed;

    2 humans(@25$+/hr each), 2 tape drives(@20$+/hr each+media) and one big pile of cpu time(@600$/hr).

    Add it up and its near 400$+ fixed costs per tape.

    Security was maintained by limiting everones access and making them strickly responsible for there own actions, sharing
    your password with another employee was a flogging offense. If your were to write it somewhere and leave it where it
    could be found, you would be thrown from a fourth floor window.


    The Best way I found was to use the password on the the NoteIt and change the desktop pattern while not at the desk, (Single guess as to the amount of clothes worn in the pic's), or for the Mac heads a 4000+ Folder storm to the desktop while boss is talking to them usually got the point across.

    You have to do this its the only way to get the point across. Works like a charm and saves wear and tear on the parkinglot. [/:-)

    Mac NQC works on PowerMacs and works with most USB serial widgets. Mac Robo Lab is ok, but hard to get outside of the USA.

    Using Emulation (VPC etal) and MindStorms Software on the Mac you will need get or to make a Powered Break-Out-Box.

    Quick Hardware notes:
    Yellow RCX 1.0:
    The Original and the Best. Get a 1.0 box if you can and upgrade to 1.5 later. As said already 1.5 missing Wart-power.

    Blue RCX, aka Scout:
    OK, has a remote, missing an Output and has Internal LightSensor Block. Great with a MicroScout.

    MicroScout (Droid Kit):
    Best "Out of Box to Play" time of the whole line. 6 Hard Coded programs and no user program space. CD is a Building Guide and no IR tower.
