  1. Re:What about unsafe code on Comparison of Java and .NET security · · Score: 1

excuse me, but have you ever written a java program?

it's possible to write 'unsafe' code in java too...

    come on, think about it.
EVERY language has to allow the possibility to write native (out of the sandbox) code.

otherwise how do you want to write ANYTHING that interfaces with the underlying machine?

in java, you use JNI (java native interface).

you mark a method in your class as 'native' and implement it in C.

and yes, if you do something stupid in that C code,
THE WHOLE JAVA VIRTUAL MACHINE WILL CRASH!

in .NET you have multiple options to write native code as far as i know..

    but you know what?

    it's NOT important.

because when you execute .NET code, you can restrict your virtual machine to only run safe-code.

so when you try to run a .NET program that contains unsafe code, it will not start.

afaik there's something similar in the java world.

so this whole 'java is more safe because .net has _unsafe_ is complete bullshit.

ok. so how do you bookmark an ajaxed webpage?

    for example, maps.google.com?

yes, there is a link called link-to-this-page,
but it is not the one shown in the url-bar.
it's not the one you get when you create a bookmark for this page.

or do you know something better?

    from the exeem-faq:
    How can eXeem(TM) be free?
eXeem(TM) is supported only by ad revenue. This allows the developers to continue making upgrades to the network and enhancing the eXeem client for you.

    bittorent-faq:
BitTorrent is great! How can I help?
    You can give a donation.

    see the difference?

    exeem-faq:
    Is eXeem(TM) open source?
No, eXeem(TM) is not open source.

    bittorrent-faq:
What license is BitTorrent released under?
MIT License, which basically lets you do anything you want with it so long as you leave the license notification in the source.

bittorent is there, it's widespread, does not contain any ads, the source code is available, runs on anything that runs python (means mac/win/linux and a lot more)

and btw the author lives from the paypal donations he receives from the happy users.

somehow the suprnova people do not understand these things...

yes, of course i can see that it's wrong when a 40year old man is having sex with a 6year old girl.
but i also think that it's wrong if a guy kills an other guy...

if i have a picture of that 40year old guy having sex with the girl, then it's crime. and if i have a picture of a guy killing an other guy, then it is not a crime. that's the paradox imho

what i don't completely understand is what qualifies as crime? because imho there can be a lot of other scenes which show violence or show someone inflicting pain to an other human... let's say

    example1:
i have a jpeg where an adult is having sex with a 6years old girl. is this crime?
    example2:
i have a video of an adult guy who is cutting an another living adult into small pieces with a chainsaw. is this crime?

i think Trip did the right thing.

about the fact that the cogenitor committed suicide :

if Trip haven't teached her to learn to read to play Go and whatever:
she would live all her life as a dog. never really thinking, never really existing.

but Trip teached her to read, and she (i know she's not exactly a she) begun to live an intelligent (thinking) life. She decided to end it.

You really think it's better to life long as a dog than to live short as an intelligent being?
