The comment was said in jest. He was obviously joking and it got a big laugh with the crowd. This story was either posted as flame-bait intentionally taking the quote out of context, or by someone who didn't watch the keynote.
Separately, Apple didn't actually plan on calling it OS X 10.10 Weed.
Arguing that the fact that everyone gets the same health care is like trying to argue that socialism is better than capitalism. Basically, you believe which is better, for a reason other than because it adheres to a system you believe in.
I could now argue that the fact that you can work harder to get better health care (capitalism) would prove that the system in the US is better than the candian system. Of course, most hospitals in the US provide excellent health care for basic things like eye surgery, and you also have the power to shop for better prices and better service.
if you consider waiting 9-12 months for a fairly simple eye surgery "better," then you'd be correct. However, paying an exorbitant amount of taxes to wait months on end for necessary surgery isn't worth it in my mind.
You must also take into account that many doctors are considering leaving canada for the US because of the wage limits.
So basically, take the not-so-cream-of-the-crop doctors, add in huge waiting periods, but call it free, and it's automatically better than any other system?
I'd rather pay for my care now than get it for free when it could possibly be too late.
i can't think of a joke thats starts with this... but i'm sure someone can successfully turn their advertisements back onto them with a witty one liner
freakishly fast and freakishly lenient. I had my tiBook screen break at one of the hinges a month after my warranty was over. I called an apple store for a quote and they said "somewhere around $700, but we can cover this one for you." i have no clue why, but they saved me $700 when i should have had to pay.
when they have been proven to not work. the only way they would beat the apple store is by using the same model but undercutting their prices and getting it out to windows users before iTunes for windows is released. The stat was that in the entire year before iTunes Music store was released, a total of 500,000 songs were actually sold from all of the subscription based services combined. Apple sold 1 million in the first 18 hours if i recall correctly.
if anything, just copy apple and try to market it better... you could even call yourself microsoft then!;)

There are plenty of great tools for freelance tech support people, as well as freelance designers. Studiometry is a good example: http://www.oranged.net/software/s/studiometry.html
yeah you're right... but the problem is that now we have both: speed and a quality OS.
so now, i guess the only reason to buy windows is tradition.
this article is way too deep for 3 am. i'll just wait until /. accidently reposts it sometime later this week at a more reasonable hour.
but either way, i wouldn't believe this because it would be too scary if it were true.

What is it that keeps such an old platform going? i think its the logo. does "an apple a day keeps the doctor away" work for computers too?
isn't HD tv's native format widescreen? wouldn't this help to get every type of TV media on the same page?
