Aren't you the petulant little child? No worries. There are plenty of young bucks fresh out of college looking for a job. All they need is Facebook experience to master the web and network of PCs used to view it. What they don't know they can learn on the job. At the very least, you will be teaching them whom will make a fraction of the salary you're making. Suck it up cupcake!
We are generating wealth, but we're not retaining much of it. Hence hemorrhaging of wealth. Those without jobs want to get back on their feet. Those that are employed are facing burnout (working overtime to keep said job). At least in the professional sector. While the most powerful nation won't be going away, there's a very slim possibility of the union fracturing. At the very least, more so today than in any other period of our nation's history post civil war era. It it does happen, I reckon it would be a non-violent revolution. But for sure it would be political as hell. Sort of like a "cold-civil war" mentality that we have now, but worse. Going back to regional forms of currency would suck, but would be the only way to decouple from the federal debt we have now. FYI, sovereign nations such as ours can't -by law- default.
As for China, they think with in terms of engineering and logic at the political level. They will do what makes since. Even today they're weaning off the dollar and going after precious metals such as Gold. But you're correct, they're no way they want to disrupt the apple cart they too are sitting on. But they want off and working toward that goal as we speak. Can't really blame them too.
Also, raising up the other nations of the world is a good thing. When you have an imbalance like we did, it means that jobs go over there, but we get cheap goods. That's good and bad. When they get rich off of this deal, jobs will return, but prices will go up. Good and bad. If you want to be a pessimist and ignore all the good, have fun with that.
Like I said. Global economic equilibrium. That's a good thing for humanity as a whole. Unfortunately for the west, the transfer of wealth happened at the worst possible time, and the short amount of time it took to transfer it. We can't change our economy over night without major pain, and doing so while under mass amount of debt makes it that much more troublesome. We barely made it out of that previous rut because of WW2. But this time it's much worse, and we're not unified on a single goal with mass production and employment in mind.
The reliability of a cell phone connection is directly proportional to its SAR radiation level. That's because while the fractal antenna may be good, the ability for the phone to transmit back may be too weak to reach the cell tower through external obstructions. While debated to be unsafe, the higher the SAR level, the more reliable the connection. CNET keeps a list of current phones with SAR levels.
Not only is inflation a killer, but the west has been hemorrhaging wealth in the last 20 years overseas. Trickle-up and trickle-down philosophies are pointless because we've been facing a trickle-out of money. Welcome to global economic equilibrium. We're just going to have to get used to living with a lower standard of living until the rest of the poor and competing nations catches up. Fortunately, China is almost there. But their supply of human labor and resources are almost unlimited. India too. There's no way our federal government can remain solvent. No way no how. I just don't see it happening with the vast amount of debt we have.
This reminds me of story a friend of mine once shared with me. When he was younger, he owned a pet flying squirrel. One day, he was holding it in one hand while he reached for a Taco Bell soft taco with the other. He was busy talking with his sister that moment and proceeded to lick the brown gravy running down his arm. He said it tasted bitter and noticed the shock and horrifying look on her face. Apparently he licked the wrong arm, and that wasn't the gravy he was looking for.
Ha ha, you're so funny...not. Even as large as Houston is (and you're not using a POS cheap phone), you can drive around the entire 610 loop and not drop the call. And that's during rush-hour traffic through the Galleria west loop side too.
As long as the HAL isn't too different, you can image a Windows machine using only native drivers, and install 3rd party drivers post image rollout. But having to work with a bunch of custom gaming rigs in an office environment is a major PITA for a number of reasons. 1. They're not stable machines by virtue they could be over-clocked. Also, slapping random parts together can yield some pretty interesting compatibility issues down the line. 2. Non-uniform hardware is being used per machine. Can make replacement and testing a bitch 3. No extended warranty, and only the original builder keeps track of the hardware recepts. 4. Future upgrading and troubleshooting takes more time and research. Time = money in business.
No, Al Gore is a shock-jock of a politician. Fuck him, and the horse he rode on. Now, if you recommend some credible scientific papers to read on climate change, I'm open minded enough that will read them; in the name of science. But when people like Gore push on me with condescension laced with a guilt trip, I push back even harder just to make a point of douche bags like him.
Before we start bashing insurance companies, let's get to the root problem first. Such as, why is healthcare is so damn expensive in comparison to other industries? If it has to do with risk, what makes you think the Federal Gov would care for you more than the private industry?
Perhaps if I was a Droid developer I might have a use for this. But for the average user, why not stick with profiles instead? No need to complicate the PDA anymore than it already is IMHO.
Unless you're using a Drobo to store backups, keeping your only source of data on a Drobo is not a backup. To be clear, RAID is *NOT* a backup. It's redundancy. There is a difference.
Get over it! Unless you start re-writing the human genome and creating neo sapiens, your little fantasy world of Communism will never, ever in a hundred thousand years work.
Communism works that way from an ideological POV. But wait 10 years (or a generation) after its implementation and you will find the bloom comes off the rose. What you're left with is a disintegration of society as a whole including infrastructure primarily built by the first revolutionaries and followers of Communism. I provide you examples China pre-reform but post Cultural Revolution, Soviet Union, East Germany, Cuba, North Korea, and others I haven't mentioned yet.
I still stand by my original comment that already addresses if not supersedes your comments.
The core problem with pure communism is that it detaches labor and incentive. Eventually the population as a whole doesn't feel the need to work harder than needed. It's the start of a downward spiral leading to equality at the lowest common denominator.
As others have pointed out, just ask China to use their ghost towns. But if we're going to do this on US soil, might as well build the town on land used and operated by the military. God knows we spend a lot of money on defense. Might as well provision the complex for special forces training.
Agreed. Now only if we could have IP Fax machines. Not just a server collecting faxes via modem, but an actual stand-alone fax machine with an RJ45 jack communicating over TCP/IP. Instead of phone numbers, we could send via domain names or a public IP displayed on an LCD for the user to give out as the host address. Whatever. We just need to keep the machine but drop the analog support.
For now... Not sure about the native internal garbage collection firmware routines for the OCZ V3 drives, but TRIM commands don't get passed down through a RAID controller. By design the volume is abstracted from the drives. Now unless things have changed in the world of RAID controllers, that has and will continue to be the case for some time now.
Note: Rumor had it that Intel Rapid Storage (soft RAID) supported TRIM with RAIDed SSD volumes. Turns out that's not the case. Intel later corrected the FAQ and stated TRIM was only supported in the Rapid Storage driver for non-RAIDed SSD drives.
I like his idea though. If you can't clean the infected machine, at least install an additional program that warns the user they've been infected with a nasty virus. At least enough to catch the attention of the IT dept or home user. Not that I've ever used a botnet before, but are we sure they're virtualizing to the point of total OS abstraction?
No, it will be the dildo and other sexual toys people want, but are too shy to purchase in person or over the internet.
Ya well, you'll have to slip in a flash card in that stack someplace I'm sure.

That depends on if you're speaking to a devout communist or not.

Not only that, but now you have 7.2kw of heat that may need to be pumped out. Running an AC compressor isn't cheap either.
I'm sure the the right investor, you can have your victorian era airship. Which we be kinda cool actually.
So you don't know anyone that carries two phones?
Uhh, no. Is that common? Most the companies I've worked for expect me to pay my own bill. Other let me itemized the bill each month as an expense.

You can thank Deng Xiaoping for ousting the Maoists in the mid 1970s. It was called the Chinese economic reform.
