From shale, to fracking, and wars, oil is seemly to volatile in price. I mean, it's cyclical; oil companies wax and wane with lots of hiring and firings based on the price of crude and cost to extract it.
What I'm getting at is that once SUVs get cheaper, people that own them are going to scream bloody murder should oil spike up to 3 and 4 bucks a gallon. In some states, that could go as high as 5 bucks.
When people "zig", it's best to "zag". Oil has been cheap for far too long. If I was to buy a new car today, I'd seriously look into a hybrid while they're still relatively cheap. Once oil goes up, so does the cost of hybrids as everyone is chasing that market too.
World will pretty much be all electric in the near future.
No it wont, not even close, and for several factors. But keep in mind I'm not against EVs. In fact, they make for some of the fastest dragsters out there (infinite torque) = fun!
1. Range - current battery tech just doesn't have the range that to satisfy vehicular use for commercial/business usage. In addition, probably wont work well for people that travel between cities via the interstate hwy system.
2. Cost - It's more expensive to own an EV. Though economies of scale and improved technology should bring that down.
3. Time to charge - petrol contains lots of energy per unit of volume!! It's also easy to transport and fuel up - it's a fluid
4. Lack of infrastructure - It's bad enough people fight over limited charging parking spots. It's even worse that our high voltage distribution system could keep up. with the re-charge draw if half of America started driving them. Though with some engineering, construction, and a bank of FES (Flywheel Energy Storage) units, we could increase capacity while smoothing out fluctuations from usage.
Most likely well see a much greater adoption of EVs in dense urban development. That's still a positive thing, because anything that overall reduces or consumption of fossil fuels is a good thing. But for those that want to remain carbon-neutral, who knows, we might have so much excess solar/wind capacity, it might start to make sense to synthetically create petrol from it. Again, ICs will be around for awhile. Might as well be reasonable about it.
There is NO Russian collusion! Give that shit up. You retards are blinding me from all the reflection given off your tin-foil hats.
That said, the parent is correct. Trust mentioned that the US is effectively subsidizing other nations via an umbrella of protection paid for by the US tax payer. Now, I'm all for helping out allies. But, when European nations (members of NATO) are touting socialized medicine and how great it is, in essence, you can thank the US for that.
Most likely this is allow greater flexibility to the CAFE standard. So while it eases restrictions on heavier cars, in reality, this would be a broad improvement in performance (more HP) across the fleet. That translates into more competitive offerings to the overseas market.
IC engine tech has come a long way in the last 10 years alone. They've become extremely efficient for what they do; primarily thanks to advancements in tooling and manufacturing capabilities.
Yes, the automotive automotive industry could create bigger SUVs (up to a certain point) with more steel and thus be heavier. It also adds to the overall cost in materials. This would reduce MPG. But most consumers don't want a heavy car for the sake of being heavy. They want versatility. In addition, consumers would rather choose more horse power rather than more mass if having to choose between the two in sacrificing MPG.
I believe that's only for devices where you specific China as place of residence, then all data gets stored in a data center located there. But EvilSS pointed out, Apple didn't have a choice other than to not do business there. The problem isn't Apple, it's the Chinese Government; not that the US wouldn't try to do the same, or isn't at least trying now to pass some sort of legislation in the future. Between the Clipper Chip and PRISM, not surprised in the slightest.
I've got nothing personal against Nascar, but let's be real honest here, there's nothing stock about stock car racing; at least not anymore. Those days have long since past.
Already heading toward WWIII, so what difference does it make?
Axis Powers = China, Russia, Iran, Pakistan, Palestine, and various other nations in Africa and South America.
Allies Powers - America, Australia, Canada, UK, Europe, India, Israel, Saudi Arabia (tenuous at best), majority of the nations surrounding China in the Pacific. Yes, even throw in Mexico too.
Russia is exceptionally pissed, and China is willing to play chicken in a trade war. Only a matter of time before it all goes kinetic IMHO.
With the IR sensors used in FaceID, I honestly thought Apple would be using vascular bio-metrics (vein imaging). Why hasn't this been done? The hardware is there to do it, no? Would be far more secure and harder to fake.
Bullshit! Almost 2GB of a 7Z archive transferred at a sustained rate of nearly 23MB/s. The preponderance of evidence suggest that it was local. To meter the speed would be to REDUCE it, you can't meter an increase- that simply can't be forged at the file system level remotely.
Want to still claim it was was a Russian spy? Fine, then the fucker was mole in the office. BUT HE/SHE WAS ***LOCAL***: as in, actually in the motherfuckin office!!!!!
What on Earth did you just say that wasn't already pointed out? Of course it was an inside job. There was a butt in seat (Seth??) that shoved a USB flash drive into the system and proceeded to copy data off the machine locally. That's 23MB/s, which translates to 184 Mbps. No way in hell they have an ISP with that as an UPLOAD rating, and even if locally on the LAN, that would require a gigabit connectivity.
It's why it's a framework and not so much a guarantee. It essentially provides a "legal out" rather then being tar-pitted in court over unanswered scenarios involving inability to access data hosted in another nation. But hey, if a treaty exist, or can exist, that's a bonus for law enforcement.
Forget the notion of whether or not China drinks the Communist Kool-Aid. The point isn't pushing Marxism for sake of ideology. The POINT is confusing the fuck out of everyone to keep the citizens subservient to the State through the lies and obfuscation of the truth. Nothing terrifies a all powerful Orwellian totalitarian regime more than an educated and enlightened citizenry.
Wonder why the CCP has been both co-opting a branch of Christianity while at the same time demoing churches and rooting out underground gatherings of warship? Yeah, because they're organized. They talk. That can lead to getting brave and plotting a resistance. That, must not ever stand in the eyes of the Chinese government. So, they're salting the grounds of intellect so as to not have their own power threatened.
Anything that is not "public" in terms of direct US administration is thereby private, even if the investor is another sovereign state.
You want to know what the difference is between an international corporation and another nation's government? The latter has a military and we interface with the government that controls it via diplomats. I suppose when the Nation of Amazon rises, it'll be treated the same.
Xi is walking a tightrope; I fully expect him focus on domestic control and protecting their man-made islands along with other bases in Africa and a new one in Pakistan to stave off India. Yet, he has to be careful to not generate turmoil inside China too.
Kim has more to lose. Sanctions look to be working. Keep the pressure on.
Putin, he's playing hardball. I think he gives zero fucks if a city is lost to a nuclear exchange so long as he benefits in the end. That man is willing to see the "bigger picture" to victory and make civilian sacrifices to do so.
Subby is requesting to deliver both power and video via USB-C to a TV. What isn't sure is to what extent the power is being used for; to power the USB-C decoder box, or to power both the decoder box and TV? It's possible what he' really looking for is some sort of PoE solution where you can use CAT5e as a single power/data transport media and break out the encoding and decoding at both ends.

It's first to file, not first to invent. Apparently prior art doesn't come in play
At those speeds and distances, how would this not be ablative?
WARNING! - Living in the state of California may cause cancer!
There, done, everything preemptively labeled; as it should have from the very beginning.
Land of fruits and nuts indeed.

How is that any different than in real life?
Like rats in a maze...
Neo-feudalism
I shall title this "Engineering Insanity"

I'm looking into starting a BBS again, hosted with Synchronet. Fuck this. Want in? Terminal baby!
It was inside job, with a USB drive at 23MB/s transfer rate. This is known and documented.

Not when Communist propaganda has infiltrated more than 100 US colleges. Dude! China is pushing the Communist / Orwellian narrative HARD! They will blow ostensibly trillions of yuan to drown all of humanity in it!!!
