    Like say before, it does the work.

    In this case was a project with webservices already coded in PHP, and the daemon shares the same functions for most of it, so it was do a rewrite and have x2 versions of the same code to port it to other language.

    There are cases where it's the best option.

    What if you are not coding a Website? PHP isn't just for Websites, you can make desktop apps using PHP-GTK or any other programs. I've even had a daemon running in PHP. It's not just matter of Web sites.

    Designers use to take adventage of many of the features that Photoshop has and The Gimp lacks.

    It's normal for a non-designer to see those as equivalents, but in fact they are pretty diferent in many aspects.

    At many offices the Photoshop guy it's the webmaster and such, they tend to uses things like bash's for with imagemagick to make their job faster and things like that.

    They use Linux right now, but it's a pain in the ass to dualboot each time they need something from Photoshop. With CrossOver I've seen many of them use Linux without restart for weeks, but seriusly, a native version it's needed.

    The funny it's that all the arguments apply to Perl.

    A well tested VM, many third party libraries... I found Perl more complete that .NET in many aspects.

    BTW: I'm a .NET coder, not a Perl one, but I use both languajes, and belive me, Perl it's more fast.

    Isn't just that, the straight comparation Windows Linux/Unix it's wrong since Windows it's an operating system and the Linux/Unix "bugs" are all related to the software in Linux.

    Ok, so you count Office bugs as Windows ones, perfect, you are in just one software against the diferent options in Unix, there it's a different universe of choices and options that make the number of bugs discovered a stat about how much secure is one or other software.

    He is a neutral Internet user, he is the target of both systems: he is the judge, he isn't just the only one.

    Anyway I've found that Gmail interface it's more confortable to use at work and for tech stuff (like mailing lists) while Yahoo's one is more confortable for the normal user, the one who store photos about their trip to the coast and stuff like that.

    That's a http error code, the http protocol defines it and it's server side.

    Client side errors are handled the way the client think it's correct, so they can display more clean messages like "this website isn't supported by this client" or something like that.

    I never noted that my Linux desktop is stupid. I use it everyday to work and chat with friends but I seems stupid now.
    Firefox and Opera both seens like a bad option to use, I mean... it's stupid, any person with brain will use that, and ofcourse Abiword isn't a great text processor that do the work.
    With Gaim you just can't chat... I mean, its stupid.
    Thanks god I'm not running Windows.
    I mean, what are the basics to say it is ready or stucked, I've seen things in Linux years before other operating systems and it keep growing.

    You forgot that in Windows you too have to pay for Game X, so it will be something like: Windows Home = $100~ or Windows Pro = $130~ Game X = $40-50 Total between $140-180

    But the problem is, nothing in the arquitecture of how the drivers works has change, as long as I see in the changelog, so why should that driver not work? It seems like a "if kernel_version 2.6.11 then wait another six months".
