From what I understand there will be different options from wide open at the app store to a Cisco sanitized app HQ and home development, to a completely locked down only IT can push apps to it. Maybe birds will fly with broken and bandaged wings

This is a step up from the idea the local police force has of tagging first their cars then pushing to haev every car tagged with wireless devices that identify the vehicels throughout the city on a wireless network. The idea being they can interface with GPS and mapping software to help them identify problems with traffic and criminal acts. They are pushing it in terms of National Securty, and claim that it will not be used as an invasion of privacy as if nothing illegal is happening, then they won't be looking.

I think you are somewhat mistaken. While it is true the grape variety adds to the distinctiveness of a wine, it is the specific blend of different varieties of grapes that lead to these wine varities. I am not aware of any comercial wines (although I see no reason why there shouldn't be any) that are solely comprised of one variety of grape. Infact, in most countries the exact blends and precentages are strictly regulated by the national governments. Again, while it is true the different grapes add distinctive quailites to the wines, if a vineyard wants to produce a run of brollos, say, they want to make sure the entire run is of the same quality, otherwise the reputation of the wine and the vineyard will be at stake. Consequently, they would want some guarantee that every grape of a certain variety which is to make up the wine is exactly the same. Hence, each crop can be massed produced to be identical (please, no grape clones!), and yet keep the distinctive wines as different blends are produced.

I would guess it is due to the fact that the French were so insistant, persistant, consistant in their attempts to keep the US out of Iraq. Some (not all) Americans have seen this as anti-american, and consequently have decided to do sillyin things like stop saying French derived words, calling liberty fries instead of french fries, throwing out their bottles of french dressing, and other totally unrelated and irrelevant acts that few people notice and no one really cares about.

The signal from the watch would have to keep the gun in very close range before diabling the fireing ability. Bad guy comes up to good guy, he goes for the gun, struggle ensues, and since the watch is still close, bad guy seizes the gun and it can go off. If the signal range is too far, it would only protect from swiping the gun and then backing away.
