Are you trying to say that the license to listen to a work extends only to the particular media it was originally sold on? Does that mean I'm infringing when I transfer the music from the CD to the speakers?
Seriously, this is a ridiculous argument. There exists in the US an idea called "fair use." This means that I may make reasonable copies for my own personal use of media that I have bought. Next you'll be saying that I can't make a romantic mix CD for my wife, or even let my kids all watch the same video at the same time, or if I do, I have to buy a separate copy for each one.
Besides, you're confusing physical property with intellectual property. You are, of course, paying the physical cost of the CD, but that's not all you're getting. If it were, then I could take a DOA CD back to the store and get a refund. The physical property is probably the smallest of all cost factors in creating a CD.
Point: If I buy a vinyl record and copy it to CD, what do I have? A copy of a record on a CD. Does it sound the same of a store-bought copy of the CD? No. Should I be required to buy the CD? No. Does it give me a legal right to download a ripped copy?? Technically, probably not, but you absolutely can't say that I have to buy a copy on CD to listen to it on CD.
Does this mean that rice boys can get the single wiper blade, fart cannon exhaust, and giant aluminum spoiler from the factory now? I wonder if they do NOS stickers too.
My band gives away almost as many physical CDs as we sell (not to mention digital copies), and we still make decent money. Reason? Giving away CDs gets more people to come to the shows, which gets us more $$ at the door, as well as increased CD sales, not to mention increased sales of other merch like T-Shirts, etc... Of course, this probably causes someone to not buy an RIAA CD because they bought mine instead - I wonder if they can sue me for that. I'm starting to really think that the RIAA is fighting file sharing not because of people downloading its music, but because of people finding other non-RIAA music - that's where it's really losing money, and that's what the battle is really about.

yeah, and no one will ever need more than 640K of RAM, either.
I really like the i850 also... I've had mine for about 4 months, and printed maybe 500 full-color pages (inserts for my band's CD). I have had very few problems with it. My one complaint is that it seems like I have to re-align the print heads every couple weeks because the black starts horizontally overlapping slightly. Given the volume of printing, and the cost of the printer (US$150) though, I can't really complain. Also, the separate ink cartridges are REALLY nice if you (like me) print out a lot of the same picture - I go through cyan about 2x as fast as everything else, and its nice to just replace one. I'd highly recommend it, assuming that it meets your needs.
good point. How do you know that they can't both be equally true AND equally false. Heinlein seemed to believe in at least the possibility of 'world as myth.' Granted, I think it's bunk, but it's interesting bunk.
I would argue that modern music can be a cause of violence. Everytime I hear a Britney Spears song, even in passing, I feel homicidal, for reasons that I think are fairly obvious. Ditto for Christina, Linkin Park, other processed schlock etc... Ban that crap instead of video games. I swear if I hear that damned 'walking on the sun' in one more car commercial, I'm gonna freaking snap.
actually the manure truck in BTTF I said 'D. Jones manure hauling,' I believe. Same as the manure wagon in III.
By the way, the Twin Pines mall was renamed to the Lone Pine mall after Old Man Peabody blasted one of the pines with his shotgun whilst trying to take out a space alien in a DeLorean.
Isn't intimately studying Kindergarteners still illegal?
