Okay, I'll bite. I've been hearing this argument for a while, but nobody mentions what form this oversight really takes. It also begs another question: How useful is this oversight? Can it do anything about the US government and the telcos working hand in hand to wiretap the shit out of the internet? Strawman. As I've said before, only 12-year olds and complete hippie loons want to abolish copyright. The rest of us just want something a little more in line with actual human timespans. And possibly different lengths of copyright on different types of IP. Software!=Books!=Movies, etc. Different obsolescence half-lives.
