959 owner and posting as an AC on slashdot. Riiight.
Let me guess, you probably live in the US too, gosh how many of them are there over here again thanks to the EPA? None (aside from gray market) So tell us, how much did you pay for it and how unlikely is it that if you're one of the select few people in the US that own one you'd be posting on Slashdot as an AC at this hour. Pretty long odds there.
I'm going to simply have to chalk this up to you simply being full of shit and/or trolling.
If you've got a 959, I've got a real Ferrari 250 GTO out in the garage that I deliver pizza in.
Hey, is that a Kia key I see on your keyring?
That's pretty funny there for someone like you who obviously hasn't got a clue what they're talking about to say. I've got both a 951 and a 911 and while they certainly both have their individual characters, there's actually a good deal of things that I prefer on the 951 vs the 911. There's a good many things I prefer about the 911 over the 951, probably why I bought both of them, they're both great cars.
I'll give you the 911 is a bit more reliable, it's certainly much more iconic and if I was image conscious it would probably be the better car of the two to drive.
Given the handling differences between the two, for my daily driver I much prefer the 951. It's nice and predictable in an unexpected situation. It's not that the 911's bad by any means, but the unequal weight distribution of the rear engine design does have it's drawbacks. In both cases the engineering and build quailty is much better than most other cars out there.
Comparing any Porsche to that oddball that the SVX was is pretty unrealistic though. Not to knock Subaru, they build a hell of a car for the price and I can't say I haven't been a little tempted by the versatility of the WRX to consider buying one for a daily driver as the AWD can be great in the winter.
By the way, I'm far from the only 911 owner that also owns a 944 or 951 or 968. As cheap as N/A 944's are these days, they make a great candidate for an inexpensive commuter car or track or DE car. They can be extremely reliable if maintained properly. They're not terribly quick by todays standards, but they still handle better than about 95% of what's out there.
I'm guessing by your comment that you fall into one of two categories. Either you're one of those nose in the air PCA member types that we real world Porsche owners who aren't too busy stroking our egos because of what we drive love to laugh about. Alternately, and by the sound of it, you're just a Civic driver making a lot of assumptions. Your view of a 951's abilities does show that you are extremely uninformed on the subject matter though in either case. So I have to ask, which mass produced front wheel drive car are you driving?
Lastly as I'm correcting your apparent oversights, anybody that knows much of anything about Porsches knows they're not built to drag race. Bad for transaxles and the like. That said, were I about 20 years younger and looking to drive around town to find cars to beat up on with a 951, I'd certainly be looking a lot higher up the food chain than Civics for cars to beat up on. Vette owners would be a much more humorous target to "beat up on" since they can actually try to put up a fight and tend to think their own cars are invincible resulting in some rather amusing fits if they don't win. You'd just have to watch out for the Z06s.
Actually these ones run games pretty well too, then again their gaming oriented bretheren work almost as well for professional 3D use and cost a whole lot less too. Either way they're pretty good dual purpose cards for actually doing something productive as well as gaming. If it's a clear cut case that you need the additional features the professional versions provide, then they're worth buying with the additional benefit of being able to use them for games if you so choose.
Flamebait? Jeez, looks like Mr. Grumpypants mod woke up on the wrong side of the bed with a rusty water tower crammed up his ass.
Now this post, on the other hand, I'll happily accept a flamebait on.
Absolutely correct. While for the most part I like the PC games a little better, the Xbox definitely has it's ups and this aspect is a big plus.
The downside of course is lugging a big TV to your friend's place to game, makes that big old 21" going to a LAN party seem like a piece of cake in fact.

And your Slurpees. We definitely wouldn't get a damn thing done without the Slurpees.
