"I think you would be VERY hard pressed to find a parent who wouldn't go for a cure if it were available."
I call bullshit. Try http://www.usatoday.com/news/health/2005-07-23-tra nfusion-jw_x.htm . While not a cure, it is a life-saving treatment that was refused by a Jehovah's parent for a 12 year old boy! This happens a bit, which is why custody can be rapidly taken from parents when needed.
Also, I eat it without utensils, since no other animal does that
The Pan troglodytes are known to learn to craft tools; some can take branches and strip them of all of their leaves and use the branches to probe ant hills and suck the ants right off of the stick, yummy. Quite a nice utensil if you ask me;-)
My backyard is starting to stink a lot, since I don't bury anything I kill since animals don't.
Damn those Canis lupus' who, on occasion, bury animals that they kill.
The analogy doesn't really work; it is illegal copying of the corn, not illegal taking of corn. And, pack-sheds sell the corn directly to people, or atleast closer than what farmers do.. The farmers make the corn, and the pack-sheds basically steal it and sell it to super-markets or whatever.
The beggars simply have a handy dandy little replicator and make a copy of the precious corn. We all know that these beggars wouldn't buy this corn in the first place, and they aren't preventing the pack-sheds or super-markets from selling it since the supply of corn actually increases with this replication.
The only thing that is taken is the possibility of the super-market selling to that beggar; what could be doesn't make it a would be. The majority of people will, probably, keep buying shrink-wrapped corn with a handy dandy seal of approval on it from the super-market because it is easier. Or some may just have a little sampling, and if they like it they will buy precious corn from the super-market. Of course, some may continue to replicate, but it really isn't a potential loss unless they were going to buy it.
Many college's find programs like Keystone quite respectable (in America), and from personal experience I know it is a good program (although expensive).
If your friend does not wish to attend an American Public School then Keystone is defiantly a good alternative.
Like a few other posters have pointed out; you can always go for a GED, which is generally as good as any high school diploma. Also as they have said make sure and speak with a college adviser.

Good luck!

He finally figured it out, eh? Seems like he is lagging pretty bad, wait until he finds out where they are now!
This asteriod is getting better and better odds, however it is what, 14 years away? The odds aren't that good for it to hit us so far, if it gets to 50% I will start to worry.
It is also important to note that it is extremely difficult to accuratley predict the path of such an asteriod that is so far away, there are many things that can change over that time, and other factors that we may not even be aware of. Personally I don't see this as to much of a threat , but it does raise the issue of needing more money put into research and defense in case an asteriod is found, that is coming to Earth, we must have some way to defend ourselves against such a collision, since it is only a matter of time before it happens again.
If there was a collective cell of solar panels throughout the United States then obviously you wouldn't have that entire problem, there is always the need for backup... But I'd rather use coal instead of nuclear, coal eventually disspates, nuclear waste remains for a far longer time!
It's too bad that they cannot find alternatives to lawsuits, you might find it plausable that they could perhaps offer movie's online at low-prices, and maybe even really early releases for people on the internet, and charge a price? Well I guess the thoughts didn't add up to make enough, although these lawyers aren't very cheap, it's hard to say which would make more profit... Anyway those are just my two cents!
Living in Moses Lake Washington being nice! Bull*hit I lived in the area for two and a half years the entire area sucks!
Water contamination, there are large amounts of nitrates in the water; 12.85 parts per million the government allows only 10 or so parts per million and even that is way too much! There is also trichloroethylene (TCE) from the airport! Did you also know the area is a superfund (WAD988466355)
Climate, if you lived in the area all year round the weather can be unbearable; triple digits during the summer and don't think of staying inside unless you like paying high energy bills. The fall and spring are okay but you can only bare the winter because there are horrible amounts of mosquitoes and I don't like wearing chemicals and/or long sleeved clothes during the HEAT!
Culture, not to say I have anything against hespanics as a whole, but the people in that area especially anger me! There are many gangs, both kids and adults. The people seem to have no scenes of moral, when they go south they leave their dogs to starve and do it again next year, they don't take their trash home, where I lived I would constantly get them stopping and throwing whatever in the back of their automobiles onto my property! Not to say that doesn't happen elsewhere but I found it happened quite a bit there. I also found that most of these people don't even have a green card! Which angers me the most, taking away American jobs! I would also like to point out there are an excessive amount of FAGS around there, and predators! And more people speak Spanish than English, many can't even speak/understand the word GET OFF MY PROPERTY!
Did you also know that area is basically "down" wind from the Hanford superfund site! Which can be a problem especially when a storage facility full of plutonium goes off!
WHY DID I STAY THERE FOR TWO YEARS? I got conned and had to stay, sucks to me... But you live and learn. But I must say that place is a complete hell hole (OTHELLO, OT-HELL-O) I could go on but my rage has left me for now:)
All nuclear power is inefficient and expensive!
From what I recall 98.9% of the fuel is waste! Deposing of the fuel is also hard and often left up to the government to pay for; also what about the burnt out buildings left behind? Do you think the company maintains control, they abandon them and leave it to the government. So it ends up costing a lot more over time than those 20 or whatever years they get out of them.

As for the French using Nuclear Power all I have to say about them is they are idiots. "We tested nuclear weapons in paradise, why because we are French," Robin Williams.

Damn all of those freaks of nature!

Would you mind elaborating on what is wrong?
