As far as I understand it, Fox sold the rights to the show to Universal along with the feature film rights. How else would Sci-Fi (one of Universal's stations) be showing the tv-show.

The real holy grail of spaceflight is a space elevator. Although the technology to build one does not yet exist, it is definitely on the way.
A space elevator would allow a cheap way to move large masses into orbit, paving the way for easy interplanetary travel. Ships could be built in orbit, avoiding the need for compromises that would be inherent in any vessel that had to both escape from earth's gravity well and travel to another planet.

why go back to TV when you can make movies instead. Joss would get more money for effects/casting and there is a lot better prospects for profit.

yeah, i agree that it is really cool that our beloved mac os has so many drivers preinstalled, but come on, is this really a /. worthy story?
but don't buy the RAM from Apple, buy the computer with minimal ram, and upgrade later. Apple charges exorbitant prices for its RAM upgrades.
i am pretty sure that mplayer will handle quicktime movies...
