now the gathering of what can be defined as public knowledge can be protected by the IP vultures.
I guess under this new scheme, copying a phonebook database could violate the DMCA. Guess its BOHICA time
yet another unforsceen cluter from SCO's temper tantrum.... I had great hopes for a standard linux base such as UL.
May Darl get ass raped by an army of rabid penguins
Mine was the Foo Fighters Ever long on winamp 1.x (1.62 comes to mind as the version) running on my P1-133 with 64 Meg running NT4. I gotten the file off of my buddies net. I got it for more of "wow this is cool shit" than "oooooh foo fighters". I can still rembr my screen with Winamp playing it back and the title scrolling across the screen.
Kinda funny to see this on slashdot, since on weds night, i was driving home after along day, and sure enough that song was on the radio when i turned the tunes on. It brought back alot of memories
We'll its true that it may have not been Carmine's hands that leaked it (think grand kid or something), but it does says something that MPAA is not just looking at "us damn net kids and our fancy broadband"
I am cuurent Net-MD user and fan. I use it while at the gym. the thing was cheap enough not to worry about it breaking or the like. and i've been a fan of being able to swap maedia, so that rules out some (lot) of mp3 players.. factor int he cost of media for a md player vs cost of media for sd/cf/sm/etc, its a much more attractive picture. also due to the size of the media, keeping a dozen or two md's in the bag isnt bad.
nor is it a problem the fact it uses it own file format. it doesnt disturm my mp3's, just makes anotehr file in its altrac format in another location.
inshort i find its the best of both worlds, small light, portable, cheap, and easy media.
Yes i did, on saterday, for a sev 1 issue. It pissed me off having to have the poor guy repeat everything he said 6 times.
On my todo list is bitch at my AR.
I'm going to stick my neck out here and say, What.In.The.Hell? Who's the editor on-duty here, an Onion stand in?

The word from the Big V is they are also testing in the Baltimore area. Since Big V is in the process of getting a migration from CDPD to Rx1TT going, i dont see EVDO become wide spread untill 2008 or so.
the system is nowwhere near this speeds wth the currrent rollouts i'm seeing. the cards are roughly 500 to 600 USD with fees around 80USD a month for unlimeted usage. As to details, i'm not at liberty to devulge too many details, but the current data system used the public safty community in my state has vehical tracking enabled, and this system is starved for bandwidth.
some of stoped thing of wireless as voice and toys moons ago
I Hate to tell you, but the, there is a segement that would love to recieve 14.4Mb over cellular, The public saftey community. We are currently evaluatng some the newest offerings from the likes of Verizon, Sprint, and Cigular, and to behonest, the bandwidth offered by the new tech looks to nice.

if this didnt involve linux, and now Linus, i would think is down right hilarious. I just cant wait to see the season finale
I didnt feel like dicking with procmail and thats why i went pop3proxy. i ran mine so i can do the whole pine thing from the road
use the pop3proxy script from the spambayes project. you need not run a full blown mail server. although there are perks to doing that
