The industry has not yet caught up with the technology, a common state of affairs. The FCC may have had comsumers in mind when bowing to content industry pressure, but that industry had only one point of view. Surely Sony, Tivo, etc. and the consumers themselves have something else to say about how we really want to watch TV.
If the FCC can regulate the broadcast flag or HDTV itself, why couldn't it demand PVR manufacturers to automatically record timeshift-specific ads broadcast in the HD subchannels. Same flagging idea, but with time range and channel stamped.
Their post says that both circuits in a dual power supply system failed. My crappy little colo locker has a 10min. UPS that draws power from the colo. One plug of the dual power supply is plugged into it, the other directly into the colo's generator-backuped line. That way even if it takes them 10 minutes to get the thing started, we're good - and if the UPS fails randomly we're still good.
Has it been that long? You're looking for 10Base-2. I ran it a mere 5 years ago when we bumped up against the 100M limit of CAT5 and had to go for the longer 185M cable limit. Maybe you can find a device like this for cheaper than here. Another option is power line networking gear - that protocol is amazingly resilient - I've seen data sent fairly long distances on barbed wire.
Ahh, breaking the backboard with a well-placed dunk. If you dunked where the rim attached to the backboard, on one side, it would almost always shatter the backboard. Remember the angry broom guy?
Funny, just last week it took me 20 minutes to get an ipod working with SuSE and gtkpod, and an additional 30 to get a USB DVD burner working correctly with k3b.
I don't think the best way to quicken the demise of IP is to compare it to "drugs, which are totally cool and the man is trying to tell kids they're bad." Keee-rist. Enjoy the bong, laugh at the megacorps as they try to stay above water, but don't compare bong hits to bittorrent clicks.
I saw the new Wonka yesterday and everything you said is true.

I'm primarily a mouse FPS player, all the way up to Doom III and BF1942. There's nothing like the control you get with keyboard and mouse. That said, there is a major advantage to joysticks: sitting on the couch with your friends.
Advantages: Being able to pick up and put down a single controlling device; not chained to a desk or balancing a mouse/keyboard on your knees; sitting anywhere in the room.
1. Republican talking point.
2. Classic democrat/republican divide. Both parties' platforms are just to the left and right of center.
3. His record speaks for itself with regards to the environment. Energy independence is not feasible, though there are ways to speed up the process. Drilling Alaska would give us oil for 4 years at current consumption - compared to a lifetime of untainted beauty.
4. Listen to AM radio much?
5. Kerry's the bronze and silver star winner - not a "champagne unit" veteran.
You could never work hard your entire life as a coal miner and expect to get ahead. Connections, personality, and motivation have always been the hallmarks of those able to move up a rung. Many people still invent things then sell the patent to a corporation. Lotteries have always been around. People want to spend a few bucks for a chance to win a few million. Laws have relaxed because they're huge revenue draws for the state.
This Office Space philosophy smacks of wage slave desperation. There has always been a working class - and the need to claw your way up the way everyone else has, by buying a nice suit and playing golf with the boss once in awhile. Lawsuit-lotteries or no, there will always be those looking for the easy way out.
That should be "especially _since_ other people will have to look at it."
My 1GB flash keychain reads/writes at ~10MB/sec. Certainly fast enough for caching and savegames.

My point was that you're at the wrong colo if somebody tripping on an extension cord pulls down your site.
I'm a little leery of buying from gameboyzflashz.ru and the like - do you know of a reputable site for the flash kit?

Mine requires 10min. of UPS. One plug of dual power supply is on colo power, one is on my UPS.

Please explain the irony.
You're fine. Here's a link for you.

The 10 people who did apt to get it were counted - don't worry!
And then you quickly click on that link, which fires up a browser, and you RTFA.

I prefer the KDE-style mixture of Dock and Taskbar. Really an excellent layout.

For a time, the 4th Amendment.

Oooooh, font tags! How retro!
Debunked, but the gist is true. Snopes actually says Status: True!
Why did you switch from FLOSS to OSS and back again in the same post? Is there a distinction I'm missing?
