before bsd i was rh, mandrake, win *, os7-9 and osx user, but only with freebsd ports i have a clue what is going on during a time and after app install.

# i mean, really... read Makefile ; is it clear what's that about? ; is it cool to install that port? ; read rest of the files ; write changes if needed
make configure
make depend (unnecessary, just respect to old gods;)
make all install clean
have a coffee \ light whatever \ run app from desktop \ blink \ nothing \ again
nothing \ run app from terminal
scream
read again: if app XXX hangs here, try to recompile with option -option-to-go-around-problem-...-ouch
i will never ever again in my life dclick on.msi or setup_bar.exe
that's the price to be informed, i guess;)
