When Microsoft abandons Silverlight, Windows users will still be able to watch Netflix through Pipelight through Netscape through Wine through Cygwin through, er, I must have missed a few steps or what ?
Good Netflix got a way to still fetch their data so they can distribute it in some other way!;D
Though shouldn't binaries be just fine in Slackware? Never mind some people claim the package manager blows donkey dick for those to. That's not my opinion though. I don't have one since I don't use it and I think it would be pretty retarded / weird if there was no tool for Slackware which offered decent package management.
Guess one would be pretty stupid to ever rent a DVD because as we here in Sweden pay for the right to take personal copies of our friends material (I think the story goes somewhat like that, IANALBISHTPTF (I am not a lawyer but I sure have to pay the fees)) I guess the only reasonable thing to do would be to ask your friends to share all the videos they had so you could copy them (the law may talk about limited numbers or whatever, still IANAL, this isn't legal advice, for all I care this should be outlawed and the fee removed, backup / alternative copies of shit you already own / have a license for should be free regardless) and well, I guess that's not all the DVDs in the world but get more friends or whatever =P
But wine runs on Linux just like everything else. It's not all other things for Linux run using the same libraries or what not.
Also I assume Wine Is Not an Emulator.
Secondly, WINE (with win32 compatiblity) is not officially supported on native 64 bit Linux systems unless you have 32-bit libraries installed.
So is nothing else 32 bit..
While this is probably fine if you are only installing binaries, but for distributions which install some applications by compiling them from source, it can cause some consternation when building some applications because the linker might end up trying to use the libraries in the 32 bit library directory instead of the 64-bit one which causes what's supposed to be an automated build process to fail
Too bad they suck but what does that have to do with wine really?
NSA has already decided to cut 90% of their sysadmins. That will limit their exposure. Though one having access is enough. But at least then they will know who that one was =P
Ironic that half of Assange's leaks show other countries begging the US to help them police their region of the world.
What will you do when America isn't there to fight your battles for you?
Bullies having friends surprise you?
All valid points though. I guess one may have to pick of having the bad guys run free or having someone looking out and try to catch them. Or whatever.
I guess the reason why we react as we do and why it becomes a problem is that some of us look at our society or on what the government may even tell us and kinda have learned and know what makes society work is in that you let everyone be themself, respect and accept each other, let everyone live a decent life even if that mean you'll have to give up something to help others and so on. If you want a society without conflicts then an equal society is likely a much better choice.
Over here in Sweden we let people in and that lead to some conflict but I guess much of that conflict arrises from them not feeling equal and not having equal chances (read monetary ability), now do you want to open your border and share equal with everyone else? Maybe not. But your society would likely become more friendly and calmer for everyone if you did.
Syria and Egypt goes hard to hard and look where that bring things and how much better everything has become? Similar with say Israel shooting back if someone shot a rocket against them or the old saying an eye for an eye until the whole world goes blind.
If you "know" this create a better society and if your government may even encourage such behavior then it may feel weird when they don't play by the rules or how they preach and just go on the unfriendly route instead.
For whatever reason life is calmer here in Scandinavia. Socialism and all..
As for guns for everyone or not one facebook group I'm a member of got an admin which seem to be pro guns but this one time he for instance pointed out how many was killed when someone with a gun started a shooting at say a school and the cops ran in vs if someone in the school was equiped with a gun and hence handled the treat himself. He had a point there and I guess he may have a point in that say the risk of being kidnapped if you have a gun yourself may be smaller. On the other hand I can easily see how things go out of control if everyone got a gun and react on their own and I guess that's the reason why we have decided against them. It may work for countries to..
On a more Sweden related note the US recently shut down a bunch of embassys. I assume Sweden didn't in those countries. Similairly I assume Sweden may have had a pretty good reputation in UN forces due to the neutral status and not pissing people off. I assume you're more trusted and people behave kinder to you if you accept them and behave kindly back.
Whatever. My brain isn't totally engaged right now. Anyway I guess the trouble with the US interfering is that some of us got a feeling that harsh reactions won't work long term and what do work is being nice to others and let them live their lifes.
Anyway, if one is happy with bombing at will with no trial and anytime anywhere just wait until it happens in the other direction.
I know the US plan is to always beat everyone in any military arena but I wonder whatever you'll really have the man power and economy to do that in the future? Maybe if you start expanding more seriously.
I imagine one can do pretty insane things with todays hardware:)
As for "heavily-stimulating dept." it got me thinking of:
"The isolated, the decisive, victory stimulated The non-simulated patterns of flight originated Now I'm a carnivore on a tour of duty My band of brothers in full metal jackets establish cruelty Black magic conjurer, attack through the monitor Destruction of assumption, one thing I can promise ya Impact, crash, with cold shards of glass Ritualistic annihilators -- murder your cast" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7lgM-NyaPO0
No perfect match and as such maybe that wasn't what they was thinking off. Just caffeine junkies? =P
It too was a Macbook Pro but I guess it would be from 2007 or 2008 or something such.
I have no numbers but I guess those 6 hours of battery life was more like 3.5 hours if you had it like.. on.. with the lid open and full brightness. Now if you used it it was likely more like (1-)1.5 hour or something such due to say Flash using up all processing power if you surfed the web and other things if you played a game.
Now used for a year+ that had likely dropped to 1 hour vs 15 minutes or something such. The MagSafe adapter losed connection (shitty cable) all the time and the hibernate on battery low never functioned so it just died due to no battery after a while. Since the machine was a consistent 70+ degrees celsius due to Apple sucking major arse and having no hardware acceleration for Flash video even though the hardware could do it the battery died quickly.
As we know ~40% charge and low temperatures are the best storage conditions for the batteries, not whatever an Apple machine had.
Worst purchase ever. Only Apple product ever. The idea was to get OS X with no fuss and I had said earlier that I would had been willing to pay this and that for an OS which worked / OS X so I put my money where my mouth was but it totally wasn't worth the experience.
One would had got a Dell machine with less retarded spec and possibility of ordering a higher resolution screen for almost 40% less to.
HTML5 in a container in Silverlight through Flash through Netscape 4.7 running in Wine through Cygwin, through an HP41cx calculator.
BUT THAT'S JUST AWESOME!!
When Microsoft abandons Silverlight, Windows users will still be able to watch Netflix through Pipelight through Netscape through Wine through Cygwin through, er, I must have missed a few steps or what ?
Good Netflix got a way to still fetch their data so they can distribute it in some other way! ;D
Slackware blows donkey dick then, I suppose.
Likely.

Sounds like it would be easiest to use Windows.
And even easier if everyone did so.
There. Solved! Everyone wins! ;D
UID 0 or gtfo.
or:
Everyone can be UID 0.
heh, looks low there :)
But then again US has always been about immigration :)
And we're almost Germans!
That will solve anything?

I always untwist my TP cables and shrink new plastic around each strand to make sure no funny business is going on.

Maybe this is:
1) Data not ready to be published, unless..
or they:
2) Feel it's more valuable this way if that gives them freedom to release what they think matters in the future
the hot heads and loud mouths you are most afraid are the first ones to Darwin themselves with weapons.
I like how the suicide bomber here in Stockholm only managed to blow himself up. Perfect ending.

The funny thing is everyone got guns to protect themself from this..

US world pol^Wbullies.
Well, he just said many.
So like.. Maybe North Korea, Kongo and .. say Burma or whatever was worse, and then you'd be done :)
I prefer Aqualung.

Looks old-school.
Foobar2000 alternative for Linux would be deadbeef.

I don't see how adding a bunch of new features is a "Return to the Origin"...
Same old bloat.
Maybe any of these work:
https://github.com/Razor-qt/razor-qt/wiki/3rd-party-applications
Now to find a distribution which actually have them all packaged...
