AFAIK battery life on the PSP becomes better if you run the games from memory stick instead of UMD. Sure that's not how they are intended to be run, but it sure helps.
But a DS can show movies, play music, read e-books, work as PDA and so on with flashcarts aswell.
Thought if it's not games you are after something like the GP2x would probably be more convenient since it let you do whatever you want with it from the begining.
Someone had already installed Windows using ASUS 8600M GT drivers and checked the clock settings and it seems like the core runs at 375 MHz and memory at 1004 MHz, Nvidia mentions 475 Mhz and 1400 MHz so if it's not the Asus drivers which tries to set those settings or something the graphics probably run at 100 MHz core and 400 MHz memory underclock:(
The X1600 in first gen Macbook Pros where also underclocked, the second gen where not (atleast not so much, I'm not 100% sure they was "the regular" clockspeed.)
I don't know if this is fixable since Macs uses EFI, we'll see.
Well, except in the case of the headphones they can receiver analog or digital data but in any case you will end up with analog data = analog headphones. Or atleast that's how I see that argument.
But this mic takes analog data and you end up with digital data, it doesn't output a modulated amount of voltage or anything so why not call it digital?
Then of course I saw a "map" showing the distribution of patents over the world where each countries border where moved as it would have been by heat distribution or whatever it was, anyway USA covered like 50% of the map and Japan another 30% or so.. China, Germany, Spain and maybe two more european countries or so covered the rest. We over here in scandinavia, south asia, africa or south america where only thin lines...
So what is my point? I guess it's that in the USA and Japan they patent EVERYTHING and therefor they can also enforce it, but in many other countries we don't care that much or just don't bother patenting and accepting such redicilous patent claims and therefor we haven't got anything to put against the other countries. Anyway I think it's quite weird if some country who admits a lot of patents enforce them against other countries who might be innovative themself aswell but not just that very intrested in patenting stuff.
IMHO we should remove all patents, I doubt they will really benefit humankind at large so why have them?
(I reply to this post because that no, they might not be very intresting in either make patent claims or admit someones right to them, what's the problem? Everyone doesn't have to agree in that the american way is the right one, and maybe we/them doesn't give a shit about all your patents.)
Yeah, I'm glad to know that the USA doesn't develop any new weapons, use nuclear power or research in biological weapons!
(In these cases my opinion is that you can't say shit unless you don't do anything of it yourself, and I guess most countries test weapons and want to use nuclear power. So what's the problem? Also I like russia (Thought I'm swede.))
When 2GB MicroSD where going to be released here but moved back and back and.. in like September or something the lowest price I could find was 710 sek. Same card could be bought two weeks ago for 169 sek. And that's just over a little more than half a year. Thought of course back then MicroSD where much more expensive than miniSD and SD and now they are very similair, anyway I don't understand why we just can't have ONE standard. SD seems large, CF to, althought CF-cards are a little bit to large for some usages. MicroSD för small devices, with adapter or bigger SD-cards for devices which needs more space, and eventually Compact Flash (if that can store more memory than SD) would be enough;/
No wait, that sucked. Why is this news? Most unintresting Slashdot news item ever.
"OMG LOOK SOMEONE HAVE HACKED TEH RESETBUTTON!11ONE!", wow, the crazy ideas, connecting a reset button between two wires! What else might they come up with?
Wouldn't it be more intresting with some good movies? I mean, maybe the people who buys a totally inferior format like HD-DVD also happen to like inferior movies like Starwars?!
I think two later studies (2004 and later or so) have shows some problems with Aspartame, but my understanding before that have been there it was considered safe since no reliable study have said something else or so, thought of course many of the studies where probably made by Monsanto themself.
But if you are avoiding aspartame you sure should be avoiding saccharine and cyclamate aswell, I've understand that acesulfame-k could do damage to the chromosomes or whatever aswell so better avoid that to. Sucralose is still considered safe but I've got the impression not 100% leaves the body? So if not there is the question about where the rest go... And what that sacharose + 3(?) chloride atoms go...
My spellings might be wrong since my native language is swedish and not english.
I guess one should avoid them, and also regular raffined sugar, but since I was told that aspartame where so safe and so on by a guy who knows his shit I started to consume it, and once you've started it's harder to let go... Same guy thought have linked the other studies saying it's not safe, thought the food associations bla bla from the governments haven't changed their recommendations or anything based on those studies. I guess it's each to their own, but if rats/mice gets more tumors in their blood and mouths maybe it's not a good idea to consume it.
But for a game does 2 seconds of loading time or whatever comes from Java matter at all? Qnext is an im-client supporting msn, icq, aim, yahoo, webcam and voip conference, games, filesharing, musicsharing and photo albums, written in Java and uses less memory than Microsoft Messenger...
Exactly, as stupid to get the iPod to, just get the iAudio D2 or something and hope that it DOESN'T play drm protected aac or wma. There you go, a usable player. I have no idea if you can move music thru the SD-card or not, but if you can that sure works for copying aswell;D
Yeah, I know almost everyone wants Windows, just that quite a few don't want to pay for it. But anyway, if a huge company like Dell did it don't you think some companies wouldn't care so much and get a machine with whatever software it ran aslong as it worked? Maybe not. As yes, of course it would hurt Dell the most, but Microsoft aswell, even more if many companies did it at once.
This type (cloning) yes, but female to female sex no. The Y chromosome carries no evolutionary function at all so we would be better of by only mixing X chromosomes I guess.
The Y chromosome are probably doomed in the end anyway.
I guess evolutionary mixing of DNA owns cloning any day thought, aslong as you have a partner atleast.
No, how can they know for sure that everything from HP is safe? And even less everything in any major dist with lots of packages.
Must take a while to figure out, thought I don't know how much software HP have made, but I guess many companies run small inhouse projects maybe written by someone as their ex-job or whatever.

I wonder who it would hurt most of Dell then said "ok, fuck this, we won't distribute Windows for you."
It's not like it would be two times as much work thought. Probably once they have made it compatible one time it would more or less be no extra work at all. Thought harder to optimize for anything.
Q1 vs Q2 - I always hated Q2, don't know why, didn't feel like my old game I guess, when I played Quake 1 year ago it was Quake1, not 2, 3 or 4. I guess I could like Q3 but seriously, why buy anything except Quake1? It rocks! (And it's playable on the DS - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TmEz138lNVs)
SC vs TA - Haven't played any of them so can't say anything.
FFXII vs FFX - See above.
Halo 3 vs Halo - I've seen in game videos of Halo 3 vs Halo 2, and no, I can't see why, except higher resolution with better details of course.
GT 4 vs GT 2 - Haven't played them.
FC vs Doom II - Uhm, are they even remotely like eachother?

Thought if it's not games you are after something like the GP2x would probably be more convenient since it let you do whatever you want with it from the begining.
Thought of course you DO have to mod it to be able to run your non UMD-movies in full resolution, haven't you?

Modded funny? It's a strange world. Russia owns.

... item ever, after the big reset button which was posted this very day aswell.
Maybe it's time to shut down Slashdot?
No wait, that sucked. Why is this news? Most unintresting Slashdot news item ever.

Also Pirates is funny, adventorus, exciting, works for the whole family, and Jack is HOT!
Where only the first Matrix movie is good and that's sort of fucking old and noone would buy it again.
So yes, of course Pirates sells more, whatever format, since it's a much better movie.
Thought I still hope bluray wins just to piss Microsofts evil strategy of and also because there are plenty of bluray burners already.

The first wow-lookalike screenshots looks awesome, also the water.

Yeah because in RL everyone sues those bastards who drops pizza ads in your mailbox. (I hate them thought, usually throws them out in the stairs.)
