I don't think they complain about the horse moving through the yard, it's the lingering, the shitting and that they eat the bushes and decorative plants on their way through.

Funny that I never before noticed the striking similarities between a Draft Horse and my wife's brother whilst 'moving through the yard'.

Not taking a stab here, and not trying to elicit abuse: Can you give some examples?

I'm curious about the AV aspects specifically, I've just built a 3.06G/1G/4x200GB machine to run Cubase and video editing software, and I was going to use XP on it. My wife has to be able to use the machine, and I'd prefer it not require a PHd to configure.

It is a separate black box in GM cars. Unfortunately, the separate black box that it is a part of controls the air bag system. Ignition and fuel injection would continue to work fine if it was removed.

What's interesting to me is, though I can't find the interface "jack", there must be a way to get the stored data out of this thing, and it must have some sort of flash ram or eeprom or something that stores the data. EE heads can correct me on this one, but theorectically, it should be possible to electrically "kill" the storage, blow it up with static, whatever, without affecting the rest of the device (assuming of course it doesn't check the integrity of the write-area prior to allowing the airbag/ABS system to pass its pre-flight-check when you start the car and it does the diganostic before turning off the dashboard airbag light). Doing this would preseve all the functions of the system, but simply destory its storage medium - presto: You get your fifth amendment rights back!

I have an uncle who is a trucker. He was amused by this comment. He said the worst time on CB in his memory was from ~1977 to ~1982 or so, before that, truckers primarily used it, with respect for each other and some unwritten "rules". Then it became popular culture and was destroyed. After it "died", you would find it used primarily by truckers, with respect for each other......

Anyone use USENET or IRC before 1997? Gee, it would suck if the Internet died like this.

There is no "age" at which they become responsible. We've all seen on the news, 12 year olds calmly handle disasters and we all know 22 year olds that we wouldn't trust alone for a weekend watching our houses. I can say with certainty that I woudldn't trust Microsoft to determine any facet of what is 'reasonable' for a 6, 10, or 12 year old child.

And if Microsoft's chat content filtering works as well as their hotmail 'spam filters' you're going to have some highly educated children, in ways you can't imagine.

There are more of these jobs than people willing to fill them now, when they're cut 50% it won't make any difference.
