    Because what do you need in order to power 16GB RAM and a 1TB SSD??? Lots of power. Which don't exist in batteries with the density required at prices that are affordable.

    Just because our Universe is a computer simulation doesn't mean that theirs is. They could have developed through Evolution quite naturally.

    True enough. But what's the predictive power of the "theory" that we're in a simulation?

    And how is it any more provable than the Deistic "God started the Big Bang" assertion?

    No, it's not. Why? Because we have a multitude of visual evidence that human children are born from human parents -- I was there for the birth of my two.

    Not so much, though, for the simulation hypothesis.

    Because the hypothesis doesn't explain where the original Earth comes from (just like "God created the Heavens and the Earth" doesn't explain where God came from).

    DLNA annoys me due to the transcoding cpu load on my server.

    Minidlna does no transcoding (it just feeds video files to whatever device asks for them), so I wonder if it's the "DLNA" part that's mandating the transcodes or some other "feature" of your media software.

    Good point. Could you stack two layers separated by head sinks? You'd obviously need vent holes, though.

    It would give 25TB capacity: 512GB/stamp at 5 stamps wide, 5 stamps deep (need some room for control & power circuits) and two layers high.

    It would cost a small fortune, but you could easily fit 50TB or more of data in a 1" x 3.5" HDD form factor.

    Exactly.

    Anyone shocked that Scott Walker is doing this is either (a) too naive to be allowed to breed, or (b) grossly partisan for the other side. (Anyone want to bet how naive that reporters from the Wisconsin Gazette are?)

    Besides, he's paying off his debt by doing something completely legal.

    I haven't read claims that it was good to rape all those Germans, just that it was understandable. I don't think you're going to find very many references to Japanese claiming that the Rape of Nanking was actually a good thing.
