Only americans can be that dumb to think they can control what somebody else would do. Such a parent should already know that education is the only way to keep your child safe. And not by supervising him/her like a prison guard. Idiots that can't even raise their own children shouldn't breed. Hey! By eliminating this kind of idiots we wouldn't have US massacres all over the world because people chose to think differently.
The same two cent magazine was shouting to the world 'The Future belongs to dot com'. And so on. I wonder why people even bother to read such crap. After all it's all about a moron who gives a definitive answer. Alowing articles like this makes a magazine not worthy of reading in my oppinion.
Actually it's not as bad as you think and that's thanks to a massive plot hole in T2. If Skynet were truly destroyed in T2 and the war averted, then John Connor would have ceased to exist since his whole being was centered around the fact that he became the leader of the resistance and sent his father back to save his mother. So if you're going to harp on these details you're gonna have to jump on T2 as well.
Hmm... this is where most people don't understand a thing from a quite nice scenario (not too profound, but not idiotic as well). I guess this is what should happen when you produce a movie in States and for such a market.
His father is sent with a story. Which he must know in order to do something. That is the story for _his_ father. Gee! So many are so shallow as this is not the only post specifying this. His father's purpose is to make sure John _will_ exist. It's obvious the net and the robots were never destroyed. The chip isn't a byproduct of the 'new' past. But only a mere fact. The circle getts closed.
T2 comes with the same problem - ensuring that the past is 'done'. Skynet isn't and couldn't be distroyed. Only the little John is protected. And even if Skynet is broken, John will resume a common destiny and exist till the end of his natural life as a regular fellow and not the 'leader of the human resistance'.

They didn't recognise the rights. I remeber reading a note about Tolkien's Lord of the Rings (long before the movies) and there was written how mr. Tolkien didn't receive a penny from the American editors. And the stolen editions have lots of mistakes as well. Now, they are the ones that shout for copyrights. After all the big shots in the music industry are paying taxes in the US. So this is enough for a holy war.
And look who's fighting for that! Who is getting robbed? The ridiculous rock band of oldies Metallica. Spears - a studio creation. Madonna who is too old to whore on the scene. Some years ago I was reading an interview with one guy from Tangerine Dream. Now, those guys are creative. I say tastes can't be commented. But while Spears is only the base for a digitally enhanced voice with no contribution whatsoever those guys from TD do create. They compose and produce their own records. Anyway, the guy was asked what about those who immitate you? The answer was 'people will recognise our music' and something like 'this means we're popular'. And for how about those who pirate your records? he answered that they don't have time for that as they are working for a new project.
