  1. I Will Buy One... on VIA K8T800 Chipset Preview - Dual Opteron in Action · · Score: 1

...as long as XMame gives me a few more FPS in Hard Drivin' :o)

  2. Re:Google file searching.... on Googling Your Way Into Hacking · · Score: 2, Informative

I've also been searching Google this way for years, it's a good way of getting what you need without having your browser cache clogged with cookies...

  3. Woohoo! on Savage to Support Linux · · Score: 1

A "game" gets Linux support! Whoa! I must buy that "game" just to convince the "games" publishers that Linux is an OS worth supporting! Woohoo!....... then again I could just download Angband or NetHack and f**k the publisher :o)

  4. Out of the server world.... on Reiser4 Benchmarks · · Score: 1

....live us hobbyist home linux users. I've read "million files this" "lost that" and other grandiose comments but what benefits/pitfalls are there for us home users? As an OS choice I use SuSE with an ext3 filesystem and I've had no problems (touch wood) yet but I am interested to know what benefits, if any at all, exist for single machine users of Linux and the Reiser filesystem?

  5. While in the real world.... on Disney to Make Movies Available Online · · Score: 2, Funny

Dear Disney, I have two children. They are demanding. What the hell makes you think they are going to wait for a goddamn movie to download? My two year old son throws a fit if I can't put the Ice Age DVD in quick enough!

  6. Conversion is not a reality... on Ogg Vorbis decoder chip a reality · · Score: 1

...especially when I've encoded my entire CD collection to 192k/s MP3's and burned them all off to CD. Now if the portable player was able to directly convert MP3's to OGG's whilst copying to the portable player such as dBpowerAMP's excellent Music Converter can do then I may consider buying one, but I like many other people will not go out of our way despite whatever MP3/WMA/etc licensing issues exist just to promote Open Source. Don't get me wrong Open Source is the bees knees but un-necessary labour on my part is not!

  7. ...and the rest... on Filesharing Traffic Drops After RIAA Threats · · Score: 2, Funny

So I guess that leaves the other 85% downloading pr0n safe then?

  8. What a load of... on Browser Wars II: The Saga Continues · · Score: 1

...self indulgent crap that article is... I know the argument has been argued a million zillion times before but who really gives two hoots what browser and OS you prefer. I remember using IE3 on my Windows for Workgroups 3.11 box. I hated it with a passion and (believe it or not) I was able to uninstall it! Fancy that an IE I can uninstall.... maybe everyone should revert back to IE3 and W311 and sod the consequences, now that would be c00l...

  9. Escape Pod on NASA Test Shows Foam Could Be Culprit · · Score: 1

I don't want to sound blase over these tragic events but isn't re-entry in the shuttle equivalent to driving at 100mph with no seat belt? ie: you take the risks you make the choice... and again surely NASA must have considered an emergency escape pod to counter this kind of scenario? Put the shuttle into Auto-Pilot on re-entry and cram the astronauts into an onboard sardine can... or are astronauts as expendable as the rest of us?

  13. ...and? on Study: Wi-Fi users Still Don't Encrypt · · Score: 1

What they found was that users checking their e-mail through unencrypted POP connections...

I guess my Yahoo address would be secure under the same circumstances then? I mean if POP3 is as unsecure as they say it is then that renders POP3 unusable in a corporate environment considering most people are too lazy to encrypt.
