Apparently you never used the screensaver. It's biggest achilles heel was that (apparently) Lycos servers were needed to coordinate the "attacks" and send the information to all of the screensavers in operation. The DDOS attacks on Lycos servers also took down the coordinating server(s) so the screensavers were useless...at least mine was.
I'm pretty sure he is referring to a function of some software that comes with the D70 that does basically the same thing as Photoshop CS's new Shadow/Hightlight tool does which brightens darker areas without too negatively affecting contrast.
You seem to be confused on the purpose/point of ISO. High ISO allows you to take sharp images in lower light. In the digital world, ISO correcponds to the amplication level of the signal from the CCD or CMOS chip. The problem is that most consumers don't understand this and that is why most consumer digicams have poor high ISO performance. The latest and greatest performer at high ISO is the Canon EOS 1D Mark II. Here is an 800 ISO image from that camera. Another thing that is difficult with most consumer digicams is a shallow depth of field
My girlfriend is Chinese (not a citizen of US yet), and she has never eaten dog and never will. If it's fair to make fun of some Chinese people for this practice then it's just as applicable for them to make fun of Americans for storing too many appliances in the front lawn of the double-wide trailer.
