Considering the overhead that Microsoft has added these days in their later OSes for their "telemetry" I don't see any problems to create a more secure architecture kernel even on x86. Of course it wouldn't be as fast as a kernel not having to work with protection boundaries.
SystemD a black box that have a lot of features that's hard to understand unless you dig through the source code trying to trace down why it doesn't do what you want and why it doesn't tell you anything about what's wrong.
That's too long for some systems used where I work where the length has to be exactly 8 characters and not contain any "special" characters in order to allow the passwords to work also on some oddball systems.
Considering that many corporations have outsourced their support (customer and internal IT) to India it's a very risky thing to annoy the government of India because they can decide to cut all network communication and then a lot of major corporations will hit the crapper.
And this is what's most worrying, we don't really know what's in "Telemetry", and I have a feeling that it's going to be a problem.
And we can't figure out which part of a future monolithic patch that actually causes the system to behave bad, some patches aren't even possible to uninstall without a lot of hard work.
And if we aren't alone but we are the first ones that have achieved a technological civilization? Is that also terrifying? Maybe, because then we might have the potential to repeat our history of colonization.
Some of the radiation passes out into space over the horizon, so Earth is certainly visible, even if it at a distance only is detectable as a noise level change.
The limit of many TV transmitters are caused by the fact that Earth is round, and only direct wave is considered. A lot of the radiation at higher frequencies slips out into space except when you have a phenomenon called tropo ducting where VHF and sometimes UHF can travel great distances along the surface of the Earth.
Then we can always argue that one reason why we haven't seen aliens is because we scare them - the same way colorful animals usually are dangerous we radiate a lot and we are pretty aggressive when you look at us. For an amusing read on that matter I'd suggest Pandora's Planet.
And maybe what both parties need to get out of the trench warfare that they currently have as well.
He's not really a good alternative, but neither is Hillary. The difference is that Trump don't have many followers from either party while Hillary has a lot of Democrat followers and a few Republican.
Both have a luggage of questionable actions throughout history but the stuff Hillary has seems to stink worst when you dig. Trump luggage is what you expect from a person in his position.
That's because for some darn reason the printer driver defaults to the US Letter format instead of the ISO A4 format that most of the world outside the US uses.
Anyone that have an interest in such tools already have them - or better alternatives.
And the chinese clone everything, doesn't matter if it's open source or not.
The difference compared to systemd is that 'init' is small and have little overhead.
Systemd is trying to fix stuff that isn't broken.

Now you got me worried, that may be a huge problem for public transportation.

My pet peeve is the stating "nothing but".

Calling the Pepe frog a hate symbol just makes it one. The reality is that it's just a stupid drawing.
Block all IoT devices in the firewall from external communication.
If they don't work you have purchased an insecure device.
If it needs to connect to a subscription service outside your home it has the potential to become part of a bot net.
Can you trust your thermostat to not browse your files?
The hosts file is already circumvented by Microsoft.
If you really want to solve this then it's to force Microsoft to change every IP address they are associated with.
And this is what's most worrying, we don't really know what's in "Telemetry", and I have a feeling that it's going to be a problem.

And we will see new problems instead.
But ISPs seems to delay the introduction of IPv6 a lot, which sucks.
Unfortunately it's not that easy, the target should be the ones building the botnets - make it a capital crime.
There's a difference between the republican party representatives and the voters. I was referring to the representatives and party leadership.
At least given what we know today. But loopholes have been found before in other stuff that was thought impossible to break.

But it should be possible to turn off that crap in BIOS/UEFI.
Things like that has a tendency to attract gunfire.
Such clauses need to be tried in court as well - a lot of EULAs aren't worth the paper they are written on.
Was the EULA provided before purchase?
