  1. The 27 club is only for those that intentionally terminated themselves.

  2. It's only the last decade or so that automatic gearboxes have come to a real world efficiency that MATCHES manual gearboxes, but they aren't by any means much better than manual gearboxes. The manufacturer figures presented are for most of us unobtainable.

  3. Which you never is able to use if the engine is left running when you leave the car shortly to do some minor thing like checking the mailbox at home.

    It's also important to ALWAYS use the parking brake since if it's left unused it can get stuck and be useless when needed.

  4. You work under the assumption that the car had a park position on the gear lever. Manual gearboxes don't.

    And there have been reports of electronic parking brakes releasing themselves without user interaction.

    There have been reports of cases where the electronic parking brake has released itself due to a software bug on some brands. And all it takes is a glitch in the software.

    Regardless of what you think of the re-boot it's not fun to see people pass on when they are young.

    But the attack from CBS and Paramount is just stupid. It does not bring value to the franchise, it just adds a bad taste of bitterness to it.

    It's not easy all the time to actually see what's right or wrong. However some clauses found in agreements can actually break the law and therefore be invalid.

    Changing an agreement "by default" is not necessarily acceptable either from a legal point of view.

  13. Finland has two main seasons - Mosquitoes and Mosquito-free.

    Outdoor activities are preferred in the mosquito-free season, indoor activities are aside from Koskenkorva consumption also a lot of thinking and preparations for the mosquito-free season.

    The PIN is NOT stored on the card, it's in the back-end system.

    At least that's how the European cards works.

    Too many tries and the card is blocked by the back-end system so it's no idea to change to another terminal.

    It depends, some NFC cards are weakly protected. There are cards with better protection but I wouldn't be surprised if they are cracked as well.

    I did play around with a NFC reader once and was able to break into a weak card in the matter of seconds. It was one of the public transport fare cards.

    Many entry systems also uses the same technology, and cloning such a card would also be pretty simple.

    I can imagine that there's a crapload of people trying to bail out now!

    You have to consider the reason for the pain inflicted to decide if it is good or bad. It may be the lesser of two pains.

    Humans work out the best avenue sometimes by trying things and see if they get penalized. If no penalty is given then it has to be OK.
