where the PS2 discs are proprietary but don't require registration or master-server checkups.
PS2 discs are just regular DVDs and CDs, they work in most normal DVD-ROM drives. XBOX (reads from outer edge > in) and Gamecube (mini) do have thier own discs though. Also I don't know of any console that requires registration or anything like that.
I just used the rechargable game gear battery pack, alot more cost efficent and you didn't need the 6 battery attachment, but it meant having a wire going to the ni-cad. But if you compare it to the GBA SP, there are still things the Nomad has that it doesn't -- headphones (without a crazy ac/headphone port adapter), a/v out, and a real backlight, this is 7 years later, GBA should have these features. Maybe Nintendo's monopoly over the handheld market has made them somewhat careless. I'm glad to see Sony join the fray, hopefully it'll drive Nintendo to make even better products.
In my experience, BLEEM! wasn't all that bad...except for it costing so much. It actually ran Final Fantasy VIII better than the offical PC demo on my machine. That is sad. This was on the full version of bleem though, it had better hardware support and ran faster, not like I paid for it or anything... But now ePSXe is way better than bleem ever was.
If it does, then perhaps the Sony handheld is an attempt to cut into the handheld market by using a library of software developed on a console. That'd be a neat trick. And, in the sense that the GBA titles are ripping from the SNES library, is another interesting example of Sony using an idea already in use by Nintendo.
Sega did this a long time ago. They made a handheld called the Nomad that played regular genesis carts. You can even use a genesis A/V cable to play on the tv like that new gamecbe addon, but with this you still have a screen on your controller in case someone blocks the tv. Pretty cool system, I still have it.
Hey it does work! What this also means is that you can buy BOTH droids, but since you can only have one, the second replaces the first. A bit of a flaw, though. I bought the white droid first, then bought the green one. Well the green one took its place on the ship, but it talked like the white one! Also, if you look droid, it is reported as the class A top-of-the-line model! So, if you want to have the green droid but can't stand the stuttering, this is how to fix him.
I remember Ultra HLE, I played Ocarina of Time on it, great game, ran flawless too. I didn't have a Voodoo card, I had upgraded to a Geforce 256. I had to use a Glide wrapper to run it. N64 code fed into a wrapper fed into a wrapper fed into the vid card. Not the most efficient, but worked nonetheless!
"more complex games and anti-piracy measures built into the media. Get ready for $60 Halo II."
What is this guy talking about? Seriously, there are no new anti-piracy techniques on Halo 2, XBOX games all use the same standard that hasn't even been cracked yet. Citing piracy as a reason for price hike is just moronic, as it will driv3 the pirates to want to pirate the game even more, by principle or just not wanting to pay the extra $10. Most consoles don't have much of a problem with piracy anyways, whereas the last generation you could just use swap disc techniques or a simple booter on the disc, you need a modchip on the xbox or ps2, and you can't even do it with gamecube. On the PC, piracy will always be rampant as long as people want games for free, and they just have to face it.
As for complexity of games, Halo is a lot more complex than an atari game, but they still cost the same price when they came out.
I didn't think they would even consider a top loading tray.
1) it's easier to use PC-style parts and
2) the possibility of using disc swapping techniques to run unauthorized code, MS does not like unauthorized code!
I don't really care which one they use, but if they use front loading, i hope they include an eject/close button on the remote.
I also heard Xbox 2 is switching to ATI for thier Graphics chip, which makes sense. Wireless controllers sound cool but they would probably cause problems with phones, microwaves, wifi, etc. like every other wireless device not to mention that latency. 2 tv outs would be awesome! Shouldnt be much more expensive to add another SCART on the box. It would be nice to have a built in IR reciever like the new PS2, and use that for Remote On/Off. And it should definately come with built in media sharing/streaming to and from PC's and other Xboxen. That should have been included in Xbox 1 from the get-go, its only software for god's sake it's not that hard for Microsoft!

I RTFA!! yay!
As a proud owner of Halo for XBOX, I will definately pirate this game.
...I'm not buying the same game twice! Bungie can have my money when they release Halo 2.
Can you fly banshees in multiplayer!?!?!?!11 Oh please for the love of God!! I want DOGFIGHTS!!!1
"The PS3: 1543.2 games available from day one!" No other console maker could compete with a statement like that.
Well, there is one company who can compete with that. It seems the Phantom will have upwards of 32,000 games at launch!
Infinium continue introducing the 'Phantom', claiming that there are currently 32,679 retail game titles available and 418 shareware game titles not including; adult, casino, sequels and new releases of the past 6 months.
That is, if there ever actually IS a launch.

Maybe if they do a good job emulating the PS2 on the PS3, the emulated PS2 could emulate the PS1 since it's built in already!

I think you're in the wrong topic...

I was trying to inspect the ship when i made a typo (guess) I didn't notice and my score went down. Good thing I saved!
Use the board at the top of the chasm, where it is most narrow.
