Looking at the car, one can't help but wonder about its safety.
"It has jet-pilot seat belts and a racing-regulation roll cage; it weighs more than 3,000 pounds, about the same as a Toyota Camry, including 1,100 pounds of Yellow Top batteries under the floorboards as ballast, so it's not tippy on turns."
If they put air bags in the thing, it'd compress you quite well. They need pictures of the inside of the car as well. I would not like to see this car in an accident. Even the "bumper" if you would call it that, is virtually non-existant.
So you have enough room for a passenger in the back? A comfortable passenger or tightly squeezed passenger?
"A narrow car could or even travel between lanes, like a motorcycle." could it? sure. could it legally? uhh
sure, the cpu is only a 266mhz pentium. but its not exactly a mind-boggling task to simply swap out the processor. even the video cripples this device. 2MB? i guess it wouldnt be more useful than an mp3 or divx box. for that much money though, i'd rather just burn a bunch of cds to toss into the cd player.
i'm assuming the video out simply plugs into the video screens in the back of headrests and such. note: it does come with IrDA so kids would be able to pause, rewind, etc if they were watching movies.
it's called a "carputer". all they need next is to attach some sort of fishing radar and they'd be all set!
now that it's been/.ed, i'll bet we will slightly skew the results for the "good" words and "bad" words.
i can see it now.
"We have noticed a 400% increase in the number of poems created including penguins and oddly enough, the letter 'C'".
wifi would be cheaper to implement and attract more users than more popular than bluetooth. then again, who's saying airlines want to spend even more money for unnecessary equipment.
this would be an interesting headline: "riaa cracking down on file sharing 5 miles up"
If you're running a WiFI connecion and happen to get a letter from the RIAA, what's to stop you from claiming that the sharing was done by someone remotely using your connection? Perhaps a neighbor. We've all heard the statistics about the percentage of WEP-disabled access points.
According to the article, this applies if you get either a T1 or IDSL. IDSL maxes out at 144kbps up/down. Thats not much of a connection to share in the first place. Getting a T1 for a residential place is not all that likely even if you do cut it down to 50/50.. still a lot to pay. If youre a business user, you might not want to share the connection for security reasons.
what if you were to duck behind something to dodge the shot? would the phone be able to detect obstacles and barriers? if not, you could just start shooting in any random direction and frag anyone within range.

I wonder how long it will take until HP releases iPaq's with linux already installed.
my guess is that the 500 megs is just to lure in more script kiddies.. nothing else
oh i'm pretty sure they'll get hit. i dont think many people will be terribly depressed when theyre taken down.. =P
I dont think the government is the best way to fight spam. It's a start though.
well, i wonder if they'd be able to legally take ALL of the computers since they have proof someone is downloading music
hopefully (assuming youre the one sharing the dsl) are running longs. if youre the one leeching, lets hope they're not. ;-)

Thats pretty cool. But what if someone breaks the Terms of Service. Would they cut the connection altogether?
