Like Apple says, it's "External Forces".
These iPhone users need to understand that using an iPhone when the external air pressure is not sufficient to match the pressure released from an overheating battery is crazy!
I always find this argument of support a little strange.
The last bug I reported to an open source project got fixed pretty quick.
In Windows, things have often crashed and asked me if I wish to send a bug report to Microsoft, to which I agree, yet these problems still persist.
I know which one I would call lack of support.
Unfortunately, the hypervisor that linux is installed on top of, does not expose the accelerated parts of the PS3 to linux. Therefore XBMC cannot take advantage of them either.
Firstly, you are talking about two different scenarios, a plane, which is essentially an embedded system, and general purpose computing.
If (big if) Linux was used on a plane it would be a very different beast from what it is on your desktop.
For starters, a plane would not need 99% of the drivers that are included with the current 2.6 kernel.
Any drivers required for the plane would probably be custom written, as the hardware would not be your usual consumer level stuff, and therefore written to the appropriate coding standards for airbourne software.
Also the core of the Linux kernel would also have to be certified to airboure software standards (DO-178B), so to answer the question of 'Would you get on a plane that is flown by Linus' latest 2.6 monolithic kernel?' my answer would be only if it is certified to DO-178B.
The likelyhood of this being done is extremely remote in my opinion, so this is all speculation.
With all these laws being introduced, it's looking more and more like the government regimes of films like 'The Running Man' where media and governments are in bed with each other!
How I see it, the studios could do it one of two ways;
1. Set the price of a movie at a sufficiently low level such that it is not worth the effort of hunting around to get a lower quality copy of the film for free.
2. Set the price of a movie at a sufficiently high level to cover the costs (losses??) of people who go to the effort of obtaining illegal lower quality copies.
My bet is the studios will be greedy and opt for option 2!!!!
P.S. If you want a cheaper, limited-use DVD now, just buy one, watch it, and sell it on Ebay! Who needs Microsoft for that?
The studios need Microsoft because they don't see any of the cash the second person pays for that DVD. With limited-use DVD, the studio gets a cut everytime!
One of my main reasons is if something does cause an error, with a little investigation you can usually get to the bottom of any problems instead of the Windows approach to errors:
"Windows Error!
Something has caused problem deep within in the
depths of this operating system, this is as much information as you are getting, now f00k off!"
As I understand it, this is eye candy will not be a loss of resources but making use of an untapped resource that that is the GPU/memory of your graphics card
Software patents are even more important than patents in other fields, due to the ease with which software techniques can be duplicated. Patents are absolutely necessary to protect small companies from having their ideas taken without any credit or compensation to the original source.,
And here is the problem, patents should not be used to protect ideas. By allowing a patent on an idea, what you are saying is that it is impossible for another person to come up with the same idea through independent thought, which is ridiculous! The algorithm itself should be protectable, which it is through copyrightlaw!

I just went to http://www.britannica.com and got a 404.
If claim 120 doesn't look like a mathematical equation, I don't what does. You supposedly not supposed to be able to patent maths!

More to the point, you can buy a freeview box from many different manufacturers, you are not forced to buy a freeview box from a single vendor.
Anything else is just smoke and mirrors.
Try reading the whole post first!

nVidia don't seem to have a problem releasing binary only drivers!!!
All that RIAA care about it that you pay for the crap!

So does this mean the patent does not apply if the browser starts the application in a separate window, and not embedded in the browser window?
you missed :
2019 U.S. citizens fall-over without warning.

And as it has also been posted 100 times, Apple have stated that OSX will only run on an Apple x86 so it might as well be a non-x86 Intel processor.
Besides, if it is a x86, this may well mean that a OSX compatibility layer can be incorporated in to Linux, much like FreeBSD's Linux compatibility!
I concur with this completely. It's easy to be 'generous' when you have more money than you can spend!
+ DVD kit
+ Modchip
+ Large HDD
+ Xbox Media Center
= Cheap, quick booting media PC
Gives the ability to play pretty much any type of media, can read media file from HDD or across a network.
Plays video as well as audio, can also play shoutcast streams.
I think pair programming can be useful but I think it is important to pair up programmers of similar skill level.
I completely agree.
Given the current situation with software patents, I (as a software developer) wouldn't want to look at any commercial code!
