  1. In other news... Marvel sues Crayola on Marvel Sues City of Heroes Makers · · Score: 0, Redundant

In yet another copyright bickering lawsuit, Marvel is suing Crayola over their line of colored pencils due to copyright infringement, apparently because of the ability to draw marvel's characters.. "Marvel argues that the colored pencil's wide range of colors easily allows players to design characters that are virtual copies of its own superheros, including 'The Incredible Hulk'." Marvel seeks unspecified damages and an injunction against Crayola to stop using its characters.

That's pretty sick. It's actually pretty amazing he can get away with it. Not from a legal point of view, but from a prisoners point of view. The reason why most prisoners are given rights like cable TV, weights, good meals, etc... is to keep them under control. You'd think with that kind of treatment that they would have some kind of riot. My guess is it's because it's a jail rather than a prison that total hell doesn't break loose.
We do things different here since I became the sheriff. I just got reelected to a third term, and now everybody thinks I'm running for governor. All the polls show me leading for governor, but I haven't decided whether I'm running next year.
This part really scares me, but doesn't surprise me. My parents think this kind of thing is OK. They think that once you're a prisoner, you give up your rights as a human being. Even still, these people aren't even proven guilty, and we're treating them worse than dogs! But as long as people seem to forget about that part in the constitution about "Cruel and Unusual punishment", this kind of thing, people will turn their backs to.
  3. Installer and About Dialog Box on Mozilla 1.7, Firefox 0.9 Release Candidates Out · · Score: 2

Well, I downloaded and installed Mozilla 0.9 for Windows here at work, and noticed the installer said that it was version 0.8. I thought maybe I downloaded the wrong file. I looked at my desktop and it said FirefoxSetup-0.9rc.exe. I went ahead with the install, and loaded up Firefox. It was definitley a different theme, but when I went to Help->About, it said it was version 0.8...

Did someone forget to update the installer and the about dialog boxes?

  4. Spyware is out of control on Spyware on One in Twenty Computers? · · Score: 3, Interesting

I work for a small ISP in the middle of nowhere. Often, we will offer our customers the oppritunity to bring their towers into our office if they so choose to fix a problem. For every computer that comes into our office, both Spybot and Adaware is run, and in almost every computer, I'd say about 90%, there is spyware. It really is completely out of control, as there have been computers with upwards of 500 items found between the two programs. 1 in 20 is a major understatement IMHO. I would have to say that out of the people I talk to, it's probably more like 4 out of 5. And then when the problem is Spyware, I say "Looks like you have spyware." And then they go, "What's spyware?"

Microsoft needs to fix their ActiveX problems. I usually tell people to run Firefox now days.

Have you played the game yet? It's not just everquest with a star wars theme. I'd call it more Ultima Online with a star wars theme. You don't have to run around with an axe, you can do whatever you please. If you don't like hitting baddies with your axe, then be an artisian, and craft some cool items. Be a dancer, and be a socialite. Be a doctor and heal people. There is a million things you can do. I will admit the combat is kind of lacking, but the game isn't about JUST combat. SWG has probably the most depth out of any RPG yet. You can do whatever you want. If you don't like any of these things, and just wanna bap monsters over the head, then please, stick with Counter-strike. I expect them to fix the combat, and content deficiencies shortly.

Well, you're in luck, because you can go to Mauna Kea (hawaiian for 'white mountain') and ski the beautiful slopes on the beautiful island of Hawaii. Yes there is snow on the Hawaiian islands. Probably the only place where you can drive a couple of hours and go skiing in the morning, and go to a sunny beach in the afternoon.
