actually, no. Those "spider robots" were actually based on nano technology. And the humanoid replicators built by them were based on smaller nano units. And in stargate atlantis, you can see another replicator race also based in nanotechnology. They don't have any "spider robots" as you called them, but were fully nanite based.
that would be against the whole idea of automation... you'll be removing the agents in the toll booths and add people for random checks?
besides even if the check was just by photo, surely you don't expect everyone that is willing to go to the trouble of using false plates to be dumb enough not to use the same plate as a car with equal color and model?
I find it odd that people are rejoicing from the launch of a 60/5, $130/month service in the US when in Portugal we have a 100/10 fiber service which includes a telephone line and free calls for 16 countries (14 EU countries + US and Canada) for $60/month
I have a 20MB seagate drive older than me. I'm 26. That drive is still working. Actually, it's working better than my 1 1/2 yo 200GB Seagate SATA drive. Which started having bad sectors all over. And... died.
people who still want to adhere to the Apple pseudo-fashion but either can't afford the non-nano iPhone or are too bored/too dumb/too simple to use anything else than the basic stuff.
I know that there are a lot of things that do require high amounts of power. that's not the point. the point is because of all the waste in all other things that could be done better without those amounts of power. that are poorly designed and built based on the assumption of infinite resources.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for innovation, but if people would spend more time finding out how to spare earth's resources instead of new ways to waste them, we would all be happier except the capitalists. And I understand that there is a need to find more contained/portable power sources for places where it is harder to pull the main grid, but maybe we wouldn't need such huge general power requirements if we focused more on ways to better save power and to better recycle waste heat.
actually, why was this modded flamebait? despite the fact that it doesn't give a direct answer to the question (99.9% of posts don't even give any answer, direct or indirect to the questions), the post actually makes sense and is relevant. With a test plan there is the possibility to find incompatibilities that don't pop out at first sight and that may force the guy to stick to the older kernel and, thus, voiding the 'is it worth it'-question with an 'is it possible'-question.
My experience with ASUS has been nothing short of disappointing. Once every now and then they have a product with great specs, but as someone said a few posts above, they're great... if you get your hardware to run on them. I've had three motherboards of the same model replaced before I gave up and went MSI on that particular computer.
A stupid problem of not functioning properly with the simplest PS/2 keyboard (yes, before anyone attempts to make a joke, it did have PS/2 ports). But most of the times, I don't even risk it and I go directly Tyan on my machines.
Asus has a lot of great ideas... but disappointing implementations.
you've been reading linuxhaters too much. take a pause. :P

weren't the replicators from stargate and not from star trek? don't mind me if I'm wrong, I've just memorized every single stargate episode...

Well I laughed. But it was actually off-topic :P
And I'm probably getting modded redundant.
He want's to be modded +1 funny
one can notice that you strongly believe in what you said from your writing. it's "you're".

I'm not in the states, you insensitive clod.
I live in Portugal, the country that invented and first implemented the transponder system.
...where everyone can be trusted and no one uses false plates to
1) not having to pay
2) just playing a prank to someone.
It will happen the same as with the red light cameras. People will use false license plates or even no plates at all.

You're watching too much House, boy. Let ebony and ivory have their love.

maybe the problem is that they find a girl that actually hooks up with a geek and want to keep her for themselves - possession generates envy :P

Yes, they do get laid... they're just too humble to tell anyone...
