  1. Has Seagate Changed? on Seagate buys Maxtor for $1.9B · · Score: 1

The last time I had a Segate drive (10Yrs ago) it crashed within 3 months and had to be returned. I bought it in Conn but by now I now lived in Ia. Seagate wouldn't even talk to me. I was told to send the HD back to were I bought it for repair/replacment. The place I bought it was no longer in busniess. So I was screwed out of a 3month old drive. I haven't bought a Seagate drive since due to their customer support policy.

  2. Re:20GB of CDs ripped to mp3? on Record Labels Release Software To Combat Piracy · · Score: 1

I've placed my entire cd collection on my pc. a whole 28 gigs of mp3's. Every time we buy another it get ripped and placed on the system, a new is burnt and that is waht is used. This way if the copy gets too scratched up or melts in the car I can burn a new copy without having to buy it. When working around the house I can play music all day long with out ever hearing the sam song twice and no disk to switch.

  3. Re:ActiveX on 10 Percent of UK Sites Incompatible with Firefox · · Score: 1

The attitude I recieved was your supposed to use IE if we can't/wont do a dam thing about if you don't! I then tell them we use linux in our department and IE dosn't run on Linux. Then they say "your the only one complaining". I later found out the the whole department complained and everybody just gave up and works around the problems because the company just don't give a dam.

  4. Keyboard is faster on Keyboards are Good; Mouses are Dumb · · Score: 1

Its quicker to type in a command than to look thru a maze of menus. Isn't it? I do cad work all day and it couldn't be done faster than with a keyboard only. When it comes to moving around the system. The mouse is useless. If you look back at when companys went from Dos to windos they took a performance hit because a mouse is no where as fast as typing in the command that you need because they are not wasting time looking thru a ton of menus and pulldowns.

  5. Article Did show if standard Complaint on Top Mice Compared · · Score: 1

I read the article it dosn't say anything about if any are standards complaint (I'll bet the Logitech are). The reason I noticed these thing because if the manufacture follow industry standards it will work with any OS. We all know the MS follows their own standards and in most cases require a special or hacked driver to work with anything other than MS windows.

Nope! Made shur that I had 1.0.4 and it still dosn't work. I'm using Linux Mandriva 2005LE. I belive it has somthing to do with the java used. Firefox for windows must useing the non-standard M$ version of java were as the Linux version use the standard version. Loook at Nvidia.com they have the same drop down boxes but they work fine on that site.

I always send them emails stating they don't work with Firefox or Mozilla. So I tried both of these suggestions. Neither of them has worked work yet. If you go to www.ecsusa.com a (Motherboard Manuf site) you'll see that site dosn't work with Firefox or Mozilla. I've sent them 3 emails over the last year to no avail. It seams they don't care to support their customer buy their hardward.

Just been to Netscape's website and no Linux version available. Some web site will work only with IE or netscape. I still prefer Netscape over IE anyday.

  13. Ati must be in MS back pocket. on ATI's Radeon Linux drivers no longer supported? · · Score: 0, Flamebait

Ati must be another company in MS back pocket. The money they make on Linux customers, MS can cover easily. Keeping thier windoz monopoly going. If your a windoz user and you buy a Ati card and later want to switch to Linux and find out that the Linux drives suck for your New Ati card and it makes it look like that Linux sucks. When in fact it's just Ati copping out to MS. I have an Ati Rage Fury and 3 different Ati Radeons. The driver for Linux stink. That why I refuse to buy any more Ati's untill I see driver support for existing card's not just the highly expensive ones. The idea the their older card are a trade secert is BS because who in Hell would want to clone a older card when the newest one your selling are more advanced. I say boycott Ati untill they come around and give full support for they Linux communty just like Nvidia has.
