This is neat and all, but has been done for years by Hexstatic, Coldcut and others...
Oh, and a related qote for you;

I'm no genius around apt & dpkg but I can try:
1. apt-file search (or dpgk -s to search only installed packages) 2. apt-file list 3. dpkg -L 4. dpkg -l | grep (for installed packages) or apt-cache search (uninstalled ones too) 5. Not quite sure what you mean... 6..deb's can be signed but that feature is not in significant use now, the repos are on the other hand signed... http://boudicca.tux.org/mhonarc/ma-linux/2000/2000 -Aug/msg01270.html Use is apt-get -K install 7. Not sure. 8. dpkg --unpack
I don't care about the security of wireless mice (mainly because I do not use them:).
I haven't seen any recently, but WOModem functions were well-used in the days of BBSs.
There was some discussion on it regarding a campaign to conserve energy in the IT business, run from the PC Pro magazine, called Switch IT Off, but the result was that it wasn't usable without some serious thought and planning.
I can beat that; the oldest accurately dated poem (I think) is an icelandic psalm named "Heyr Himnasmiður" (Hear, Creator of Heaven) written sept. 8th, 1208. Turns out that the lyricist, Kolbeinn Tumason is my great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-gr eat-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grea t-great-great-great-grandfathers brother... I must be entitled to almost 800 years of royalties!
The day after Jon S. von Tetzchner made the anouncement, one of the icelandic papers (http://www.mbl.is/) had a short interview with his mother. She was apparently stunned about his thoughtfulness, coming to visit her, but said that he could just drive as she has lived in Norway for over 17 years...
Well, I go through variations too, but any day of the week you may find me with a country (think Johnny Cash), rap (f.ex. Tribe Called Quest), classical (can't beat Schubert) CDs, debating wich one to listen to. And yeah, I try to listen to all my CD's at least once a year. I do consider myself to be a bit of a music nut (I'm a classicly trained musician too), wich might explain all this:D
And your 25 songs worth listening to are what? Britney? I have about 1200 CDs (physical ones, not downloaded) totalling an estimated 12000 songs (10 per CD). I would consider about 200 of these albums throw-away, but each of the 1000 CDs left have at least one great tune, some have more. Man, your music taste must be limited to listen to only 25 songs...
Don't forget that the American left wing would be considered centrist/right wing in most parts of the world... That being said, I think extremes to either side are harmful. America needs to take a good look at f.ex. Swedish political policy and learn...
Oh, common!
Prove them slashdot haters wrong, and RTFA (ordinance actually). This is a modification to campaign finance rules declaring that any payments to bloggers above $1000 by a candidate should be declared, and the blogger in question should be required to disclose this in his posts.
The registration is for the candidate who pays the blogger.
Sheesh....and I thought you disliked astroturfing (wich seems to be the target here).
Buildings here are (almost) all heated with hot water taken from thermal springs. This means a constant throughput of hot water (or it freezes in the pipes), especially during winter. This water is usually what goes through driveway pipes, after it heats up the house.
But the hot water is cheap... about 25ISK a day for normal residential use, that's 0.3$.
Sorry... it's just that the weather here has pissed me a bit off. It's been swingin from -5C to -15C for the last days. It makes riding the bus a lot less fun...
Actually, Iceland comes quite close to filling its Kyoto treaty quota on pollution, mainly because of its fishing fleet (old diesel engines).
Please log out and try again.
Oh... so the ice and snow I see through my window (I'm icelandic) is just me becoming colour-blind?
I actually rode one of those buses just last Tuesday, funny seeing it on Slashdot.
No, you can only read 3 pages. After that it shows a little text from Google ("Thank you for using Google Print. You have reached a page that is unavailable for viewing...").
Google's not stupid you know...
Yes, but this is really for the step before that. You decide for example to write your doctorate on Martin Luther King, and type "I have a dream" in to google and get links to 10 different books (mabe with links to amazon) as well as web pages...
This is just what amazon are doing with a9; blurring the information jump from dead tree to pixel.
