Now, I was mocking the ac with my little joke, but then the mod squad got religious and modded half of us in this thread down just because we replied.
Here's the deal, it's not my fault you guys pulled an all night lan party, ate tons of pizza and drank "bawls" or red bull and now have prolifically bloating pizza gas, thus making you grumpy, so grumpy as to mod my little post down.
"Software maker Novell Inc.'s stock (NOVL.O: Quote, Profile, Research)
fell 4.5 percent after the company announced the departure of Chris
Stone, its vice chairman"
For the second time, Novell has released the source code of a once-proprietary software package that makes it easier to substitute Linux for Microsoft's Windows.
Novell, a new power in the Linux landscape, announced last month that its YAST (Yet Another Setup Tool) installation and configuration tool would become open source. And Tuesday, it said it would make the same change with Evolution Connector, formerly known as Ximian Connector, software that lets the company's Evolution e-mail and calendar program retrieve data from Microsoft Exchange servers.
Evolution Connector previously cost $69 per computer, spokesman Kevan Barney said. It will be available as a free download by May 15, though source code is available now.
I was checking out my Knoppix distro, and whadya you know, an app call "gpsdrive" is packaged with it and can be run on a pda. I'm thinking that I should give a used Zaurus a chance before pluncking down $500 for a Garmin IQUE 3600 and the car kit.
GPSdrive has a project page on freshmeat, and I also came across this earlier/. article discussing GPS with PDAs and this post mentioning gpsdrive.
I definately get edgy in airports, even dropping people off. I know who's working in TSA and airport rent a cops, and always get the vibe that they want to make a big bust. They are also notoriously dim, and I get nervous when dim people have the authority to arbitrarily revoke my rights/privilages.
I've also become aware of how my behavior in certain public places may draw unusual and unwanted attention. I was shooting some pics on a bike trail near my home, which follows along a river parkway, containing a hydro dam. I took some pics of the dam and fisherman at the base of the dam, then suddenly noticed them all looking back up at me from a couple of hundred yards away. Folks on the trail riding by looked at me strangely as well. I stopped cold in my tracks and rode on, a little resentful I had to watch my back taking leisure photos.
Another instance was when I was shooting some pics of intepretive wildlife kiosks for a lake. There is a TRACON facility right across the road from the lake's north shore, and it's impossible to take photos w/o including photos of their front entrance. A guard came out to the street while I was shooting a couple of shots, asked me how long I was going to be, then went back into his guard shack, still staring at me. I got the hell out of there and continued on around the lake, but it irrked me that they would think Mr. Honky with a bad tan and digital camera would be surveiling them.
Yeah, I always remembered GOP as "Blue". Maybe they'l switch hit in '06 for Congressional and Gubernatorial races. What would be a better color scheme? Blue and Grey? Nah, Pink and Purple? Maybe some iridescent colors....
It appears as though the GOP "red" has enveloped the country and surrounded the largest population centers of the US. How ironic, the color, geography, some might say, like a metastasizing cancer, or a map from Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Im just playing devil's advocate, I'm a registered Republican.
Living in Vertical Time by Brian Narelle Description: The Teachings of Murray the Buru. These ruminations on life, love and peace were inspired by a donkey named Murray, a special soul housed in a 600 pound body. My friend, my teacher...my '"buru". (104 pages)

However, Netline will keep some of the software proprietary. The open-source version lets computer users tap into its functions with Web browsers, but those wanting to use Microsoft Outlook or Novell Evolution will have to buy a separate module from Netline. "If you want to use Outlook as your preferred client, you need an add-on from our site which is not open-source," Hoberg said."
When Maddog was asked about communications and e-mail applications running on Linux making a dent into Outlook/Exchange, I was kinda dissapointed to not hear mention of Evolution and Evolution Connector, or SUSE Linux Open Exchange Server (SLOX) migrations going on with companies like RICIS and IDL.
I understand his point about Sendmail and developing countries adopting F/OSS, but the question was pretty pointed; "any communications and e-mail F/OSS apps running on Linux that might make a dent in Outlook/Exchange?"
"
Together, Ricis and I.D.L. Technology Group have installed over 1,000 Openexchange servers in 2003 and have performed more than 340 Microsoft Exchange to SUSE LINUX Openexchange migrations, as well as over 150 migrations from other Email server platforms using various SUSE LINUX (Now Novell) approved migration tools.
Those are the kind of facts Senor Maddog needs to be dropping. Also, here's a online demo for SLOX 4.1
(BTW: I don't work for SUSE/Novell, RICIS, IDL)
This "quest" for a Linux mapping solution reminded me of my own; I've recently been thinking about (rather procrastinating) over buying a Garmin IQUE 3600. In my reading and comp'ing of pdas with GPS/Mapping software, I looked at the Linux-OS-based Sharp Zaurus which gets a lot of (well earned) attention here.
I was looking for more than the Zaurus was offering, but here's what I found and bookmarked. I'm sure others here using the Zaurus will be able to fill in the blanks and share other gps mapping OSS projects out there, if they exist, which I wasn't able to find, other than three below. Zaurus Users Group might have some info as well. Bill Kendrick is also a good resource about these.
