I work for a fiber optic cable company as a design engineer, there is a specific test that calls out hitting a cable with a certain shotgun load from a certain distance just to address this issue. I don't think it is a FOTP, maybe JIS, but the guys in the lab that used to do the testing really enjoyed it.
The entire point of advertising is to get you to desire something you never wanted in the first place. Always has been, the media is different, but the methods and motives are the same. Nothing new here except the tracking.
Really...there are not literally tons of books about this subject.
Really...there are not numerous certifications for Project Management.
Blank stares from some maybe, but really...this is presented as a topic that is breaking ground?
Really.
I did hear about that, but I can assure you they are still in use. This year I was unfortunate to get one in Wilmington, NC and my wife got one in Raleigh, NC near NCSU. My mother in-law received 2 in one week in Cary, NC. We don't normally run red lights, but it seems when we ran a through a changing yellow we were in the wrong place.
They sent letters saying "send us $50 bucks and it all goes away, doesn't even show on your license at all and no record" or if you don't bad things happen. They are still being used in NC regardless of where the money is supposed to go.
I have wondered for a while why instead of the bloat they couldn't just stick with the core OS and get the thing so small I could keep it in my wallet, all screen, credit card size, a little thicker.
I love my Sony and the others I had before it, but I don't carry it in my pocket and all the other (brands/models) are just as big.
Personally I thought SA went way down hill a few years ago when they changed their format to look more like Discover (and content too). There used to be pretty good technical stuff from medicine to physics...sigh...JAR (just a rant).
I also took that class and did all the sorts (instertion, bubble, etc.)
Fond memories...I also wonder what they use now both in terms of software and hardware...I don't think it would hurt to start out using TRS-80s and CoCoIIs. Fundamental understanding and all that.
While I am probably just being bated here, I will say I advocate controlling CO2, wasn't saying we shouldn't. Just wanted to add to the debate by pointing out that CO2 isn't the only factor and its interesting....
I don't watch a lot of mainstream media, but what little I have seen rarely mentions points like orbit changes or what the first reply mentions 'that both are contributing' (I haven't had the chance to read the whole article)...just extreams on both sides that make good tv.
In a recent National Geographic they say that the CO2 is rising, but the temperature changes through history (from ice cores and other things studied) show that temp changes over time are also tied to changes in the way the earth orbits and we are in one of those changes in orbit right now...
My grandfather and my dad are both ham radio guys (I also have my license, but haven't used it in forever). I always remember them building things from scratch and saying that this was encouraged, that the ham radio spectrum was given to encourage innovation by amateurs, stuff that was later used by corps.
I would guess some of the same here.

I found an app note on this: (But I don't work for Corning) http://ccswebapps.corning.com/web/library/AENOTES.NSF/$ALL/AEN023/$FILE/AEN023.pdf

$10 refill for b&w, $15 for color, works great. I guess they have gotten around any IP issues, about time.

I wonder if the HWP is still using 6m. If so I wonder if anyone looked at that or cares?

Some one needs to do a sensitivity analysis on all these two.
