My Compaw Portable III has a Orange and darker orange display.... And Windows 3.0 runs on it...
Anyway, why not just get a few kids [pay them to sit in the basement], some microphones, some small amplifiers (LM386s, mixers, and/or computers), and some small speakers. Run wire from the basement to strategically placed speakers, give the kids a script, possibly add a small security camera [or more] for them to see if anyone is actually there.
You must remember, we don't assume that everyone has a credit card. We assume that every poor sap that believes everything he reads in a spam email has a credit card.
Yes, I remember it. Great magazine. Where have you gone?!?! Other than digging up back issues of Byte and similar great magazines, you can subscribe to new IEEE journals and to RSS feeds of code updates (I'm sure someone has done this, if not, MozDev may start doing this after people start reading this, nice way to know if you need to re-download from CVS 20 minutes after you just grabbed everything.), or just grab the CVS version of some actively developed applications once per week and see what's changed.
Then find a version of BASIC for your OS, most of them have SOUND or PLAY or something similar. If you post your OS and BASIC version, I'm sure someone can reply with the how-to:)
If you're going to put it in the circuit room, what's the point? Just plug the stuff directly into the UPS using extension cords if necessary.
Because in many places, using extension cords/power strips* permanently is against code.
It does if you use one of those GFCI circuit breakers that you install in your panel box
Well, that would be a circuit breaker, wouldn't it? Not just a longer length of wire, it's also splitting a single outlet into multiple loads. And a power strip isn't?
Even if it can, by increasing the distance of the cable you're increasing the potential interference. And extension cords won't?
* note the use of "power strips", not "surge suppressors"
If you really need to control that many packages, why not just make your own distro, or package your product with a modified installation for a readily-available distro?
Umm, yes you can, you just cannot distribute it in its new form. Anyway, the one-time-use is fine, you cannot remanufacture their cartridges. But you can refill them, as long as you keep the cartridge in your printer, right? I mean, you're only using the ink once, and you are only using the plastic container once, it's just a very continuous use, as long as you do not let it empty completely.
There are an infinite number of dimensions.
As long as something can move freely in one dimension, there must be another dimension such that it can move in this new dimension, but not control its movement. A point can only move in 1d, in a line, that is all that it can tell, but moving in the line that it sees, it will turn and create a second dimension, but it will be inable to control it. A line can only move in 2d, but moving in that 2d space, it may turn into 3d space, but be inable to control this third dimension. As 3d beings, we move in 3d space, but we also move in a fourth dimension (some say time, some say there are some in between, choose one, it doesn't matter for this argument), however being inable to control it, but possibly able to perceive and measure it. So a 4d being will move in 5d, a 5d in 6d, a 6d in 7d, a 7d in 8d, ad infinitum.
That whitepaper has some insight, but they have trouble spelling simple words, and their graphical representations of queries have different words than their textual representations, so I can hardly trust this as an authoritative source.
If you need a bit of info to understand their difference from ClearChannel: Infinity owns K-Rock [WXRK, New York], the station that runs the Howard Stern Radio Show (until he switches to Sirius). Clearchannel discontinued their airings of the Howard Stern Radio Show suddenly one morning on almost all of their stations that had rebroadcast agreements.
It's quite hard to get the internet in my car when driving any distance over a few meters. Radio however works well for many hundreds or thousands of miles [ad infinitum, barring interference]
I was going to post example links, but why give them the publicity? So that they get to experience the wonders of the slashdot effect?
he more I snoop, the more webhosts I find that are connected. Yes, many webhosts are just resellers of services that they acquire from other hosting companies. Actually, many different businesses have deals like this, it is not just limited to webhosts.
Are there any websites run by a community of members who review webhosts? There are quite a few, but they all have either too few users that they are just as bad as a single user's review, or they have so many that there are an equal number of bad and good reviews of most hosts.
Personally, I would just ask friends and local IT people how they like their providers, and what they have and what they are missing.

That isn't white, that's an overbrightness of the red green and blue that makes you perceive close to white, it is still not white.

They could use them to help find Mersenne Primes. Just a thought.
ByzantineOS does a good job of being a 'internet dashboard', all from a bootable CD/flash drive, running Mozilla.

and for the DOS user in you, you can use the PLAY command in QBASIC or QuickBASIC.
I used the Noteworthy Composer demo a while back, it is a nice score-based midi editor.

Umm, Laser printers use Toner cartridges. There are companies that refill these. Heck, there are monks that sell these.
Wow! You're from Columbus and you need to go somewhere to get to Ohio! Ah, the public school system at work.

Down the road? Gas (87 octane unleadded) just went up 15 cents overnight.

I live in Infity Radio country (NYC area).

Wouldn't that be harder still?

That sounds great, but when will we get Source's source?

Any technical convention really, from NAB to defcon, or even to gencon.
You can use kill and kill any processes that you are not using, close any applications you aren't using, kill any drivers that aren't needed.
