If they're already looking at being able to switch between 2 platforms and google is saying no, the next logical step will be to have both iOS and Windows running along side each other.
Commiting acts of espionage on american citizens on american soil combined with signing contracts to violate the constitution, puts them somewhere between the mafia, spies, or domestic terrorists.
I hope the guy charged with sexual battery doesnt go free because of something like this, being able to find him by breaking the law doesnt make him less guilty, and it doesnt seem like the evidence against him was a result of breaking the law , only his capture. I hope he gets to stay in jail and those that had anything to do with that NDA go to jail with him.
It seems to me that if the US allows its DataCenters and ISPs to selectivly throttle bandwidth as they please, that the UN could easily use this to force us to give up being home to key internet infrastructure like ICANN, ARIN, etc..
Only problem with stargate was the absurd assumption that only 36 constellations could somehow give thousands of combinations of 6 point addresses in space all landing at planets. Another problem along the same lines is which star in each constellation do you use as your reference point to find the planet, because yo ucould arrive at a variety of different locations depending on which star in each constellation was used to find the intersecting point in space. (6 constellations formed the X/Y/Z axis and at the center of the axis is supposed to be a planet)
Need more SG-1, Atlantis, and Universe! At one point there was both a large petition and some offering of funds to continue this show. I'm sure many would still support it.
The Seagate Central external HD seems to run linux. Its running sshd, lighttpd, smbd, along with several other common services. Its only got 256mb ram 1gb swap so you can't do a whole lot with it at once but it still makes a pretty neat little linux box. Was an unexpected bonus being able to ssh to root on my external drive. It only costs like $15 more than a plain external usb drive.
While I wouldn't call jQuery a hack, it would be reasonable to say for an embedded platform like the panasonic tv, it might not be able to handle the overhead of loading jQuery and still performing well.
My understanding of this is that there are many government imposed limitations on the phone companies that benefit the average person, and if we switch to digital the TELCOs will no longer be bound to those regulations and will be free to become our new overlords.

it looks bad-ass, lasts 1000 years, can withstand extreme heat, humidity, and light, tested by the DOD, and readable by normal dvd drives.
DVD's do not have a very long shelf life, even if kept very well. Maybe they make longer lasting (more expensive?) DVDs with better dyes and materials.
if legally males stay male, and females stay female, then this article is worthless. If you work with government agencies you would have to give your legal gender anyways, not the gender you think you are or have been surgically altered to be.
for legal purposes, if someone starts off one gender are they always legally considered that gender or does gender altering surgeries change your legal gender.
gitorious has always felt a little unsecure, and it tends to be rather picky about which ruby gem versions it uses.

The UN has been pushing for control of the internet for some time now, but the US has managed to keep them at bay insisting that the US is open and is not doing things exactly like the NSA has been doing. Now that the US's story to the UN is complete shiet, will the UN have grounds to start taking control of some of the technologies and organizations running the internet ?
I can see this drastically reducing the cost of getting your DNA sequenced, and at the same time I can see police starting to take it anytime they would take fingerprints.
Electronics fail, things go wrong. Adding more possible points of failure to the people that depend on a single shot firing perfectly seems absurd. This technology I think is great and should be required for all consumer sold weapons. I doubt that active military weapons are frequently used against us and I'm sure that they keep much tighter control on their weapons already. Additional components will also mean retraining of the weapons so they can be properly maintained. This would cost an insane amount of money to retrain soldiers as well as replacing current weapons.

I think this should be required on all cops in the US as well. It would help protect both the police and citizens.

I probably won't like the movie but I respect them for trying to incorperate technologies that are uncommon in that industry.
It ran on top of DOS yes, but there were still Windows apps/games that ran in only windows, but the popular games were all still dos.
when 3.1 was prevalent most popular games were still dos based.
