Same here, I live in Georgia. This state is almost solidly Republican, until recently I've voted as such as well, but I cannot see voting for Bush, there are too many things that I disagree with that he supports. But there is MORE that I disagree with in Kerry's campaign. So I can't vote for either. And I actually agree with most everything Badnarik stands for. So I'm voting libertarian. I don't really think he'll win, but I'm hoping that my vote with a few combined others will show that we're tired of the two party system. So yes, I am in the same boat as you are.
I must admit, my mind fell to the same problem. Then I relized it was about BBS instead of BBC and Dr. Who. Then the 7 hours thing frightened and confused me. 7 hours about message boards.. my. And I thought the Unwashed Village was scary.
...but everyone else in my area seems to be because none of the ISPs around here even seem to think people here want broadband. It's hard being in the minority when it comes to wanting broadband access. But there isn't much you can do except whine to the local telcos & cable companies until they extend access to include your area:(
She would never think Slashdot was interesting, so you can guess that gaming is out of the question.
Just because she isn't into slashdot doesn't always mean that she wouldn't be into gaming, my wife isn't too big on slashdot, programming, or even computers, but she sure does love to play computer games and our gamecube. So what I'm really just trying to say is that's an incorrect generalization.
My cable provider is crap, I wish they provided at least digital cable. They don't even provide internet access. So I fear that this technology is years away from where I am. And that will definately not be fun. Especially since high speed internet is still years away from where I am.
I hate my town, stupid out of the way, one red-light town. >:(
I am probobly the only person on earth that actually enjoyed escape from L.A. but then shamefully I saw that one before Escape from NY, My bad I guess.
I fear any sort of "Patch" micro$oft would try to give to any open source product. I have this dreadful feeling that it may be a cancerous patch.
Just think "You're now starting Microsoft(TM) Linux, with NT Technology!!" Or a Patch that completely screws up your kernel, oh yeah, I really want Uncle Bill patching my OSS.
It's amazing how few people actually realize the difference, since we get fired for using the other parts of the regular netscape install (IM, ect..) they really don't notice it.
I concurr, I work at an internet tech support callcenter, and we just recently switched to Linux from decaying win9x machines. I must say, even with being a very limited interface, they do give us everything we need to complete the job, and nothing more.
We have Mozilla(renamed to netscape for people here who don't know what Mozilla is) A telnet client (for business purposes only) and a text editor. Very stripped down, But Very efficient.
We are still trying to phase out the old windows machines, but I'd gladly fight for my stripped down Linux machine to make sure I don't have to use those buggy, virus-filled windows machines.
