The real secret of life is both preventing cells from dying and preventing cells from dividing. Each parent cell has a limited number of times its children cells can undergo mitosis. Cancer is mitosis out of control. So finding out exactly under what conditions cells begin replication is the key.
Hiibel did not give a justification for remaining anonymous. Of course, I still don't quite know what made the police officer suspect that Hiibel committed or witnessed assault.
Anyway, read the last two pages of the decision.
Still, a case may arise where there is a substantial allegation that furninshing identity at the time of a stop would have given the police a link in the chain of evidence needed to convict the individual of a separate offense. In that case, the court can then consider whether the privelege applies.... We need not resolve those questions here.
That said, I still don't like the decision, and I still don't quite like the actions of the police officer.
That's very insightful. Given that spam is an overall economic bad, you can somewhat offset the production of spam by spending money for its removal. Or you could spend money so that it is never produced in the first place.
Maybe we should treat other economic bads (e.g., pollution) in such a way: subsidize the non-production thereof.
Those are the only files I found that it could have modified or created, unless it has some kind of way of changing the associated times on files. So it's not permanent.
This is a story because they have proof of concept and a basic framework. This gives them attention; right now they need people to flesh out and test the system. A story on Slashdot is a great way to attract attention.
Now whether this project is ultimately useful is debatable.
The Sonic X English dub sucks. Both organizations that have made fansubs up to this point, WolfPackProductions and Team Artail have not turned out any episode past 11. Goddamnit.
And the back-in-the-day ABC series still was more dramatic and had more potential. Oh well, I should be happy with what I have now.
Doesn't work with cable or satellite (not sure if this is a hardware or driver limitation) but can decode both NTSC and HDTV. Completely open platform, so completely open drivers.
Yes, I know, I'm excluding "child prodigies." But if you have that kind of insight, and you choose to apply it to system administration, you have a problem. Or more specifically, I would have a probelm.
There was a story on that here. I guess most people thought that Brazil was just going for the MS discount. Now that we take governmental use of OSS seriously...
However I'd be willing to bet that there are a far greater number of individuals who are better informed and make better decisions by reading Slashdot.
Before Slashdot, I was a Windows-using "power" luser. Now I actually know things about computers! And in only 18 months! Thanks for making my life better, Slashdot! [absolutely true story]
But seriously, the other thing Slashdot does is tell me how I'm getting fucked in the ass next. I had no idea just how much businesses and governments are scum.
I've done that once. This is why I've started to touch -- -i in every directory with important data. In case of accidental rm -rf *, you're not fucked. I forget where I learned that trick, but I'm sure it will be a life-saver someday.
The San Andreas fault is nice and all, but

Is This The Big One?

What about the New Madrid fault? It's overdue for a 7+ magnitude earthquake, and it's in the middle of America.
How do you know that Wheat is safe to eat without Wheat 2.0 Update?
Because we've eaten Wheat 1.0 for thousands of years.

OK, so that's what those Bsubs are on bt.s0nicfreak.com. Which is mysteriously down right now.
I guess I wasn't curious enough to see what they were.

You still need a good Faraday cage to block everything.
I don't think this would be the artists' call to put copy protection on the CD.

13-year-olds can pass the test.
I'm sorry, but that means that no actual thinking goes on. Nobody can put together multiple complex concepts to do much of anything at 13.
im not aware of an ata drive that even comes close to the 5 year warranty of wd's sata drives.
Or, if it's your fancy, no PATA drive matches the Raptor 10k RPM SATA drive. Imagine two of those striped... yummy...

No, you fight Hate and Ignorance with Truth. Not with censorship.
This really demonstrates the "Old World" that is still in them.

This is "funny" because Babelfish translated his message badly?
Somebody shoot that moderator to put him out of his misery.
Outlook -> Nothing comparable

Yes, but how much heat do you think 7 hard drives put out? Answer: a fuckload.

To my recollection, a torrent was set up for a 9.1 ISO at its release.
MST3k
So who owns it now?
