But *why* are we interested for linux to become mainstream?
The answer is that if linux has a respectable percentage of total users we can expect hardware companies to release drivers for their hardware.
Apart from that, it's better for linux to remain a system for the few. Popular distributions already suffer most windows crap (lousy software, pseudo-user-friendly scripts which do things on the system we don't know about, automatic updates, etc).
I like LFS, Gentoo and slackware.
But we already have that. It's called BannerAddRemover. If you also disable java/javascript, automatic redirection, popups and asp, you are able to get straight to the interesting links.
has a O(n*log(n)^2) swapper. Nobody has ever though of this before. It will take at least linux 2.9.0 to implement that. The BSD developers are geniouses. This is why the 10 most stable servers of the internet (accoring to netcraft survey), run FreeBSD. All the other OSes crash while FreeBSD goes on.
I saw this here, on slashdot the other day, and I thought I'd let you know. Consistency of information.
LOL! Don't you know that if you mention Iraq, you get modded down? You shoot yourself in the foot! LOL! LOL!

This is just my sig.
Now where is the URL of the homepage of this 3 billion users OS?
It doesn't have?
Is it only "for those who know"?
